The reliable go to

I’ve just jumped from Ghost 15 up for the 17. The slightly lower heel to toe drop hasn’t been noticeable. Quality is as expected and very comfortable. This is my go to shoe base runs and long runs.

Yes , I recommend this product

Sloppy and Not at all Comfortable

I echo many of the other comments on how disappointing this shoe is. I wear a narrow and there is such a limited amount of choices in shoes for me. The 15 and even the 16 were good for my narrow foot, but the 17 is horrible, I can barely wear them for more than 7 hours (work in an ED and on my feet all day). The others were great, but my heel slips and the toe box on the narrow is wide. Even my legs hurt after trying to wear these. I use to wear Adrenaline, but that has also changed. There are already so few choices for those who wear narrow shoes. I originally bought 2 pair of these as narrow go fast, but ended up sending the second pair back.

So good—a lot like the 15’s! The toe box is a bit narrower than the 16’s, which were awkwardly wide at the front.

Brooks did a great job with these, going back to the slightly narrower toe box that the 15’s had. I found the 16’s toe box to be too paddle-like, and it made my custom made inserts shift when I walked or ran, also causing a weird squeaking nose that I hated. The new 17’s are all-around very similar to the 15’s with two notable differences: a cushier sole and a raised tab at the heel. I’m unclear what the purpose of the heel tab is—maybe to pull them on easier?—but regardless, this is a much comfier, better-fitting shoe than the 16! If you have wide feet, I’d suggest ordering a wide, but for my narrow-to-average-width foot, they are perfect! Love the black and purple color way, it’s even better in person! Bravo Brooks.

Brooks Running Shoes Review – Great for Non-Runners Too

I'm not a runner, but I picked up these Brooks shoes because I liked how they looked. I've always worn ASICS, so I was a bit nervous about switching brands. When I first tried them on, the soles felt different—almost like there were bubbles inside, probably designed to absorb impact while running. It took a couple of days to get used to that sensation, but now I don’t notice it at all, which is a big plus for me. I mainly use these for gym workouts, and they’ve been really comfortable. No issues with support or fit, and they’ve held up well. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend them, even if you're not a runner like me.

My go to shoe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are my go to shoes, I’m a 36 year old mom who coaches baseball, helps at school, runs all over, I am constantly on my feet. These are great for my back, I have lower back pain and I don’t have any issues while wearing these shoes. I workout in the mornings with my husband and my feet have never felt better! I love this shoe in black, the material holds up so well and they look great with jeans! I have gotten so many compliments on them already! I have a higher arch and these are so great! I would highly recommend these!

Look and feel great. They run narrow so I purchased wide.

I bought one pair for work and liked them so much, I bought another pair to work out in. The pair I bought for work; after less than two months, are splitting from the sole. Its a small hole, but they are still too new to have a hole in them. I have been wearing the Ghost model shoes since the Ghost 13s and this is the first pair I have had that have ripped so easily. Not sure what happened. They run narrow. I bought wides and they are perfect. They are not slip resistant. They look really good on, and are comfortable.

Disappointed in the changes

Brooks Ghost used to be the shoe I would recommend to anyone who wanted cushion and had plantar fasciitis issues but not now. For me 17s are the worst version of Ghost since 13s. Not sure what I will use these for but I won't be buying more if this is the new standard. The 12mm heel toe drop was great - why change it to now when that is one thing that sets these apart? If I wanted 10mm I wouldn't have so many pairs of Ghost sneakers. The design of the toe box doesn't look as good or feel as comfortable. I will read carefully before buying new versions in the future and am actively trying to find old styles to stock up on.

Fit is weird

Really wanted to like the Ghost 17. I loved the Ghost 15 so much and ran so many miles that I've worn completely through the soles, so it felt like it was time for a new pair of Ghosts. I normally wear a Size 8, but with the Ghost 15, I had to size up to Size 8 Wide. The 8W fit me perfectly in the Ghost 15. I tried the same size, 8W, in Ghost 17, but they're just so uncomfortable. I really gave them a fighting chance: tried a few runs and walks, tried different lacing methods, but I just can't get a comfortable running stride in them because the fit feels so strange and causes foot pain. I'll unfortunately be returning.

Hard Pass - Why Ruin.a Great Shoe???

I've been a loyal Brooks Ghost customer, and never had issue with wearing them comfortably straight out of the box. This year, it's different. The toe box is uncomfortable for me. Returning. I hate having to experiment with other brands, but I now I have to. So annoying. "Brooks Ghost" people have loved those shoes for years for a reason. Why mess with a great thing? I'm hopeful that next year they will fix it. If so, I'll buy them. If not, I'm out for good.

Not for me

The only work and workout shoes I wear is Brooks. Ghost has always been my favorite. The shoe has made major changes since the ghost 15. The ankle is too low and the cushioning around it is too wide. It rubs on my ankle when I walk. The heel tab is also too high and uncomfortable . Minimizing the tongue and changing the fabric and stitching is probably one of the worse changes for me. The tongue constantly moves to the side and pinches the top of my foot. The nitrogen infused heal is pretty comfortable and springy, but in a somewhat strange way. I really hope Brooks will go back to the style of the Ghost 15 and the Glycerine 20s. For me, those were the most comfortable.
