Great for wide feet
Velcro at diff points allows easy customization of width and also makes it easy to put on (I struggled with Keens bc the ankle area was tight when putting on the shoe, and the toe box was tight). Haven't taken these out yet into the water but did wear them out for a casual day and they were very comfortable and did not cause pain anywhere. Recommend.
Cushy and supportive for PTTD patient
I have tendinitis and fallen arches in both feet, a wide toe box and a narrow heel, which makes it nearly impossible for me to find a shoe that feels good! These were a GAME CHANGER when I bought them for a trip to Costa Rica. The soles are so cushy and comfortable and the multiple points of adjustment ensure a good fit. They had great traction on a wet boat, stayed on in the ocean, and were comfy to wear shopping. I usually wear a 9.5 W need but these were so roomy that I went down to a 9. Worth every penny!
Tab at back heel was dealbreaker
Seems ok. Like the style, and the shoe has some decent support/cushion, but do not like the plastic shoe feel. I probably would have kept though except for the tab at the back heel... I was concerned that it would hook on something. Returned.
Excellent, virtually pain-free walking!
Great shoe! I have terrible feet, flat with the right one in constant pain. This shoe evenly distributes pressure over the top of my foot so that the pain is minimized. Thank you!
Excellent service REI
Price was competitive with other retailers. Like most, shipping was free. I ordered these on a Saturday and hoped they would arrive by Thursday as expected. I had my doubts because REI was the only place where they would even arrive this week. Happily surprised they came on Tuesday. Well done. Haven't worn the sport version of Teva but am a long time fan of the Teva Tirra.
great fit inferior traction
This was a tough one for me. I compared Keen Newports to these and my believed Oeen Venice which they stopped making. The Newports are very snug even going up a half size but the traction is superior to the Teva. In the end I think neither one is a keeper. I had the Keen Venice several times and it was perfect with great breath ability, loose fitting and great traction and colors. The Keen Newport I think is the next best thing and it is way too snug and they don’t breathe, but the traction is fantastic and superior to the Tevas. These are definitely out as they are too snug even with the laces fully released. After a few minutes wearing these in warmish weather my feet swell, get super hot and are bulging and I don’t think they are going to loosen up that much.
variable straps allow flexibility
When Keen stopped the Venice model I had to find an alternative. I wear these type of sandals year round in cold and hot weather. With and wo socks. I like easy on and off with a slight tug. These fit the bill. The toe box is wide enough for me which I refer. Def alot of toe room. Choosing between these and the Keen Astoria the Tirra don’t hug the foot as much so for hiking I would prefer the Astoria. The leather in the Astoria weeks a bit and I am not sure if the leather will give some with time and loosen the fit up which is would prefer. The two weigh about the same as far as I can tell so a scale. For daily street wear I like the Tirra which are looser and more breathable. Trying to decide between these two is hard but after trying all the other Keen sandals I am glad to have a Keen and Teva choice that suit me and an REI return policy to give me the time to evaluate.
Good looking and Comfortable Shoes for my Walking
My shoes were just delivered early, thank you REI. I tried them on, and I fell in love. They are well made, comfortable right out of the box, and feel very supportive. I think I want all the colors. I tried them on with socks as well, because I wear sandals all year round if the weather permits, and they are still very comfy! I needed walking shoes with style, cuteness, and comfort. I found it!!!
My summer shopping is done
Haven't tested them yet but I have been a fan of Teva sandals for more than 30 years and by now I can tell tell immediately how the sandal is going to perform as soon as I try them on! So I'm now summer ready including going to the beach and soak these babies into the salty waters and just be able to run around everywhere!! I buy a pair every few of years because they last that long!
So Comfortable, I Want Another Pair!
The adjustable straps and ergonomic sole make them easy to put on and take off. I tried them on at the store and went down a half size to 8.5, and they are so incredibly comfortable to wear for hours walking/hiking on end.
