This is at least my 5th pair of Salomon, I usually bought goretex speed pros , and they fit perfect and lasted well in my opinion, considering I am on my feet all the time ! But unfortunately the last pair of a bit different model is a waist of money, they are pretty wide so my foot doesn’t keep stable, also I went out to water plants in the garden some droplets fell on the show not much and my feet were wet, that’s like the second time I wore them! zipping them up tighter doesn’t work as it just kills blood flow. and my feet are tired very quickly, where is before I could go for hours and be perfectly fine. So I wish I could exchange them on my usual pare
Hi, we are sorry to hear this happened to you. All our products come with a 2-year warranty against material and manufacturing defects. I've purchased over a dozen Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes over the years, as well as other Salomons, and this pair isn't right. The arch support on my right foot is on the outer side of my foot, and it's also too far up, under the ball of the outer side of my foot. Left shoe is the typical, perfectly comfortable Salomon XA Pro 3D that I fell in love with a decade ago. I've tried wearing them to see if something inside will shift to normal, but I've had no luck. I'm so disappointed in this pair; I hope I am able to exchange. Even though the XA Pro 3D's have changed over the years, I've always loved them; but I believe my right shoe is defective.
Hello there! We apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. A member of our team will contact you shortly to discuss your experience.
Let's start by saying that I am in avid Solomon customer. They are my go-to company. Over the last few years I had been a bit more disappointed with the quality and design of the shoe. I am not alone - you can read reviews like mine elsewhere online. Something has changed and not for the better. Some of the styling changes that they have made to the X ultra have been less than ideal. My last pair I returned because the heel of the shoe blew out (see pictures) within a year or so. I was reminded of the warranty program that Solomon has and decided to write in. The process was relatively simple. We had just a couple emails back and forth. Thank goodness I had purchased my shoes online so that I still did have a receipt because without that I wouldn't have had any options. They do ask for a number of photos of the shoe from all different angles including the inside of the tongue where details were almost unreadable. I received a credit to purchase a new pair of Solomon's at approximately 85 to 90% of the original value of the shoe that I had purchased. The credit can only be used for a purchase made through the Solomon website. I chose the XA pro 3D. Another Gore-Tex product. I am an absolute lover of the shoelace system!! I have seen others who have written reviews that don't like this system but I have no idea why! It's fast and easy and tucks away the laces so I'm never having to stop and tie my shoelaces. The overall shoe design is lovely and makes my foot look narrower than others in the past. So we'll see how the new pair last but based on the warranty system they have in place I feel very comfortable with remaining a loyal Solomon customer.
I bought two of these shoes and both fit very differently. The first pair were a snug fit in the heel and fairly short in the length for a 5 3/4 and the second pair the left foot was very wide in the heel and they were a better fit in the length but you cannot wear shoes that appear no care has been taken in manufacturing to provide a good fit. I love the design and quality but the fit is shocking. Also if you have slightly wider feet these are pretty good unless you have a straight big toe it will catch or rub on the inside edge of the toe box. Overall disappointing and both pairs will be returned.

The shoe in terms of trail running traction and being waterproof is really good. However, the fit and sizing is disappointing. My small toes on both feet are getting blisters / chafing. I suspect this is the large size of the toe cap and the shoe being too big. I used the size guidance provided but I should have trusted my instinct and gone half a size smaller. I have been trail running for over 10 years and have never had this problem before, but this is also my first time trying a Salomon trail running shoe. It's disappointing as over and above this the rubber on the front their walking shoe I bought earlier in the year started to peel off from the shoe. Not a great first experience with Salomon so far.
This is my third pair of these shoes and each pair has lasted an impressive number of years. I have hiked many kilometers and summited many mountains in them. This version I ordered the same size and am dismayed to find the volume (not length) is huge compared to the older models. My feet slop around inside and the cuff seems to come up really high around my ankle. I still love these as an everyday shoe, especially in wet weather but can no longer run in them or do big hikes. Super disappointed to have to find a new shoe for these activities.
Really gutted as i have had two Salomon hiking boots prior to these and they were ace. Sadly these are tight over the top of my right big toe - i think associated with the position of the toggles where the lace threads in which is lower down the foot than before. I have worked for three weeks to try and wear them in by I'm afraid they hurt when i walk downhill. If you have high arches or anything approaching a big toe bunion then i think these will be tight. Such a shame as they look great and my left foot is super comfortable!
I always go for the XA Pro 3D. I don’t normally go for the Goretex. As others have mentioned, this and other models are longer than in previous years. I’ve always gone with the same size & had to size down a half size for all shoes this year. The Goretex liner is built into the upper tongue area better than in previous years - no more sock to slip into - or it wouldn’t be an option for me. The toe cap & sole are key for features for me. Fortunately the sides (near the ankle) are lower - some of the previous Goretex models were too high. The lacing system doesn’t seem as durable as previous models & I hope it holds up. Thats my only concern. The stiff soles (that I want) make them a bit less comfortable than some of the lighter shoes but these are great for legit hiking.
I love the Xa Pro line and was waiting for the new ones. I find them very comfortable for everyday wear as well as day hikes and backpacking. I get the most out of every pair I buy. I'm a 7.5 and these are true to size for me, roomy enough to move my toes up and down but no sliding around. I was disappointed in the color options, but purchased the one with the most black on them. I'm not sure why the colors always need to be mismatched and weird. I didn't realize there was pink on the black and light blue ones.
Four years ago I purchased a pair of Salomon Gore-tex trail hikers, when I had my right hip replace. I wanted shoes I could slip on and off. I LOVED my old shoes and wore them so much that they were finally starting to wear out. Salomon wasn't making them anymore, so I took a chance on the XA PRO 3D V9 GORE-TEX. I LOVE them. I had my left hip replaced June 19, so I was hoping for the same convenience as the old shoes. These are great and I like them better overall than my older ones.
