Best Metal Water Bottle for Active Sports
I was a skeptic but now I'm a big fan. I was concerned about the price point but after using the Bivo bottle, I'll never use a plastic water bottle again. Here's what I like: -It's metal, not plastic. -Lightweight (given it's an insulated bottle). -Incredible water flow. -Easy to clean, fully dishwasher safe. -This is a Performance Bottle! This is one of those products where you won't understand how good it is until you try it.
The last cycling bottle you’ll ever try.
This bottle will make you question every bottle you’ve used before. Ever been out on a long hot ride and wanted some ice cold water? Well 4-5 hours in on your hottest ride reach down and hear the sweet jingle of unmelted ice cubes. Out riding in frigid cold temps and just want something to warm you up? Reach on down and enjoy your favorite warm beverage no matter how long you’ve been out for. Ever been crushing some hard intervals and need some water while you’re gasping for air? Forget squeezing and sucking, just tip your Bivo back and enjoy an unmatched flow rate. It’s hard to think of a way to revolutionize something as simple as a water bottle. But the folks over at Bivo found a way to completely change the water bottle game. Once you give one of these bottles a try there is simply no going back to your traditional plastic water bottle.
Total game changer of a water bottle!
I love my insulated bivo water bottle! It's way lighter weight than I expected, keeps drinks super cold for a long period of time, and doesn't have that gross plastic taste that other bottles do. Really easy to clean. I'm a big fan!
Easily damaged, otherwise great
Only used once so far, but it kept my water cold and ice unmelted for the entire hour in the hot summer sun. Flow rate is amazing, even faster than the plastic Polar and CamelBak bottles I’m used to, even without the need (or ability) to squeeze. Already, I like this so much better and don’t want to go back to plastic. Be warned, however: Do not use this product with a metal bottle cage like the REI Junction cage. My Bivo bottle now has minor (but permanent) damage to the outer soft silicone coating layer after only one use on a gentle paved trail. It’s not entirely unexpected, but I’m kind of sad that it happened so quickly. Some kind of warning might have been nice. I assume a plastic cage would be better, but it’s too late for that now. If Bivo made their own cage, I’d buy one - hint, hint? Anyway, the bottle still does what it's supposed to do, so life goes on. On a positive note, I really appreciate that Bivo is one of the extremely few companies making vacuum-sealed bottles without using any lead (Pb) in the manufacturing process. Almost all other brands use a lead “sealing dot”, but Bivo uses lead-free glass for this purpose instead. They deserve a lot of credit for this! They wrote a great blog post on this topic, and you can search the web for “bivo lead free” to read it. Also try searching your other favorite drinkware brand, and you’ll probably be disappointed.
The Best Bottles
I love my Bivo insulated bottles. Drinks stay cold for a long time. Great for activities on and off the bike!
Perfect for hot days.
Excellent flow rate. all parts are replaceable. Has an available dust cap (purchase separately). Outstanding performance for keeping water cold, even in hundred plus desert heat. Good indentation location for bottle cage compatibility (although I wouldn't risk them in saddle-rail mounted cages). One of the best things I've bought for cycling!
Cool but leaks 100% of the time
Great idea and mostly well executed. I love that it is not plastic. They did a pretty good job of solving the problem of a one-hand bike water bottle that you can't squeeze--you do get a lot of water out of it rapidly. However it leaks. Always. No matter what. Every time you drink out of it, your beverage will pour all over you. No matter how tightly you think you have closed the nipple, it will leak. If you have it in any position that is not upright, all of the liquid inside will leak out. I'm still using it. I hope the next iteration of this product solves the leaking problem.
Bivo > Camelback Ice
I bought both this bottle and the Camelback ice insulated bottle. On a 111 F ride I had both bottles filled with equal amounts of ice / water. Bivo kept water ice cold while the camelback melted ice rapidly and was left with about room temp water. Bivo is easy to open with your mount and close as well. Camelback requires you twist the unlock feature and squeeze or suck. Overall I’ll be returning the camelback and buying another Bivo. Bivo is all made out of stainless steel instead of plastic. My only wish is that they made a slightly bigger model to hold more water.
Best bottle yet
Best insulated bike water bottle I ever bought. Works well. Enjoy it.
Best Bottle
This is a great bottle. I used it in 90F temp for a 3 hour ride. My first bottle stayed cold, the second bottle into the 3rd was still cold. Compared to Camel Back these are superior. Water did not get warm but did go down a few degrees but still acceptable.
