These running shoes are absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend them. I am a casual runner who targets 3 runs / week varying between 3-6 miles. They have been my go to running shoe for about 3 weeks now. I used them on hard surfaces and crushed gravel since I got them and found they performed well. The shoes have a ton of cushioning and are very light. The extra cushioning has come in handy as I am recovering from a mild case of plantar fasciitis. I like the two tone color and have gotten multiple compliments. I am 6'3" and 185 pounds with average width feet, I found that they fit true to size.
When I first saw the Salomon Aero Glide 3, I was admittedly skeptical. Compared to my go-to long-distance road running shoes (usually Hoka Cliftons, Altra Torins, or New Balance Fresh Foam 1080s) I expected these to feel noticeably heavier and less responsive. To my surprise, that wasn't the case at all. Once I hit the pavement, the Aero Glide 3 quickly proved me wrong. They felt impressively light and agile, with a smooth, responsive ride that made even longer runs feel effortless. The midsole cushioning strikes a near-perfect balance: it's plush and responsive, offering a soft landing without feeling overly squishy or unstable. There is just enough springiness to keep your stride energetic, and I found the stability to be more than sufficient for a daily trainer (even on varied surfaces and tired legs). One small issue I did encounter was with the sizing. While I was pleased to find a roomier toe box—wider than most Salomon models I have previously worn—the shoe does run unusually long. I would recommend sizing down by at least half a size to ensure a snug, secure fit. Final Thoughts: The Salomon Aero Glide 3 is a standout choice for runners (or walkers) seeking a highly cushioned daily trainer that doesn’t compromise on weight or responsiveness. It is perfect for high-mileage days, recovery runs, or anyone who wants a soft yet lively ride. Just be mindful of the sizing, and you will likely find these to be a surprisingly capable addition to your rotation.
After hearing aboutcthe AG3 from a few shoe reviewers I thought I would give them a shot. To keep this short and sweet, the ride of this shoe hits the sweet spot for cushioning & compression/compliance, ground feel & responsiveness. It is the “Goldilocks” daily trainer. Bonus is the roomy fit for my borderline wide foot (Left 11D, Right 11E). Didn’t think I would like the gray colorway but the little pop of orangey-red adds some nice spice to a spicy daily trainer. Great job Salomon—don’t mess with this shoe!!
Salomon Aero Glide 3 Review If you're looking for a reliable road running shoe that blends cushioning and support without adding bulk, the Salomon Aero Glide 3 is worth considering. While it won’t win any style contests with its basic black and white color scheme, this shoe shines where it counts: performance. One of the standout features is its impressive cushioning. Whether you're logging daily miles or going for a long weekend run, the Aero Glide 3 keeps your feet feeling fresh with a soft yet responsive midsole. It also offers noticeable arch support, which adds to the comfort, especially for runners who need a bit of structure. Despite the plush feel, the shoe remains surprisingly lightweight, making it ideal for road runs where you don’t want to feel weighed down. It strikes a solid balance between comfort and efficiency. Sizing runs large, so be prepared to go a half-size down. I typically wear a 10.5, but a size 10 fit me perfectly in this model. While the design is simple and won’t turn heads, the performance more than makes up for it. If you prioritize function over flash, the Salomon Aero Glide 3 is a solid choice that delivers consistent, comfortable rides. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Would you like a shorter version for social media or a more detailed breakdown with pros and cons? You said: more detailed breakdown ChatGPT said: Great! Here's a more detailed breakdown of the Salomon Aero Glide 3 review, including pros and cons for a fuller picture: Salomon Aero Glide 3 – In-Depth Review The Salomon Aero Glide 3 is a no-nonsense road running shoe that focuses on comfort, support, and lightweight performance. While it may fly under the radar visually, it performs reliably for runners seeking a cushioned yet stable daily trainer. Fit & Sizing One thing to note right away: the sizing runs large. If you're usually a 10.5, you'll likely need to size down to a 10 for a secure, dialed-in fit. The toe box offers decent room without feeling sloppy, and the heel locks down well with minimal slippage. ➤ Tip: Try on in-store or consider ordering two sizes if you're in between. Cushioning & Ride The midsole is the standout feature here. Salomon has nailed the balance of soft cushioning with a touch of bounce, making it ideal for both recovery runs and longer miles. Despite the plushness underfoot, it doesn’t feel sluggish—there’s enough responsiveness to keep turnover smooth. Cushioning Type: High-stack EVA-based foam Feel: Soft, protective, but not mushy Ride Quality: Stable and smooth; not snappy but consistent Arch Support & Stability If you need a bit of support but don’t want to go full stability shoe, the Aero Glide 3 hits the sweet spot. The arch support is subtle but present, and the shoe feels stable even on uneven pavement or during slight fatigue. Support Level: Neutral with mild stability Ideal for: Neutral runners or mild overpronators Weight Despite its cushioning, the shoe is impressively light. That makes it ideal for runners who don’t want a bulky trainer but still need comfort. Weight: Approx. 9.3 oz (men’s size 9) Impression: Doesn’t feel heavy during transitions or longer efforts Looks & Aesthetic This is where opinions may differ. The black and white design is very understated, which some will appreciate for its simplicity. But if you're looking for eye-catching colorways or a sleek modern design, this one might not stand out. Style Rating: 3/5 – Functional, not fashionable Durability & Outsole The outsole uses a solid rubber pattern that provides reliable grip and decent durability for road surfaces. You can expect 300–400 miles, depending on your running style. Pros ✔️ Plush cushioning with a smooth ride ✔️ Lightweight for a high-cushion shoe ✔️ Arch support offers comfort without bulk ✔️ Good lockdown and roomy toe box ✔️ Solid outsole traction for road running Cons ❌ Runs half a size large – try before buying ❌ Very basic design, lacks visual appeal ❌ Not ideal for speed work or tempo runs Final Verdict The Salomon Aero Glide 3 isn’t flashy, but it delivers exactly what you need in a dependable daily trainer. If you value comfort, cushioning, and light weight over looks, this shoe is an excellent option. Just make sure to size down for the best fit. ⭐ Overall Rating: 4/5 🏃♂️ Best For: Daily miles, recovery runs, and runners needing light arch support
As someone unfamiliar with using the Salomon brand of shoes, I found these shoes to be quite comfortable. They packed plenty of bounce in their step which made my evening runs feel almost effortless. The material was quite breathable which is always nice.
The high stack foam of the Glide 3's is like running on a cloud. Springy and responsive, these initially felt a bit unstable as I sank in, but I've grown to enjoy them. The foam isn't fully protected on the bottom, so these are definitely best suited to sidewalk, road, or hard packed gravel. They aren't standing up to any off road use. The upper is comfortable, with the right amount of room. I generally wear 10.5s and these are true to size.
I’m a big fan of Salomon and these shoes represent the brand well. They are insanely comfortable. I stand all day for work and they’ve been a game changer for me. While they are not the best looking shoe they make up for it with comfort. I’m curious to see how they hold up over the next year.
Great shoes! Love the sole, good for running, walking is super weird and unbalanced in them, and the style is just absolutely not working with my wardrobe and the aesthetic I’m looking for, a little out of touch with current shoe trends in Oklahoma/the US more generally. They fit perfectly going by the size guide from Salomon(my 10.5 was a 9.5 aeroglide 3) i got French blue, and the color looks exactly like the Oklahoma thunder blue, not a huge fan(like a bright cobalt- too bright/a kids color). Attached are photos from a visit to a local shoe store in them.
I’ve used these shoes for several weeks now, and they are a very comfortable shoe. The fit is nice and the quality is great. They are a great pair of shoes overall, but they’re not the right shoe for my body. I had a little bit of knee pain in them. I thought it might disappear after using them for a while and I adjusted to them, but the pain never left. There is nothing wrong with these shoes, they’re just not quite right for me.
The Salomon Aero Glide 3 is, in my view, the best everyday trainer Salomon has produced to date—and I’ve run in every version of their road shoe lineup. Weighing approximately 9.1 oz (258g, US10) with a 40mm heel stack, it offers remarkable lightness for the substance and cushioning it delivers. The broad, stable platform inspires confidence across all paces, from easy aerobic runs to uptempo sessions, making it impressively versatile. The deep, energetic eTPU-based Energy Foam provides a lively, responsive ride with excellent shock absorption and rebound, giving the shoe a smooth yet spirited feel. The upper is a standout feature: breathable, lightweight, and designed with an innovative seamless interior for exceptional comfort. Notably, this model moves away from Salomon’s historically snug fit, offering a more generous, accommodating toe box and relaxed fit while maintaining security. A well-executed balance of plush cushioning, responsiveness, and agility, the Aero Glide 3 is a true do-it-all trainer.
