Very weird fit, otherwise good
I saw these shorts very highly reviewed, but I didn't like the fit at all. I have more muscular legs and a smaller waist. I tried a medium, my usual size, but the legs were way too tight. I also tried the large, which fit my legs perfectly, but the waist was incredibly loose and falling off. I would have had to rely on the drawstring, which is not something I want to do on 30+ mile runs. The material and design seemed pretty solid, so if you have a very "straight" body type, you will probably love them, but anyone with thicker thighs may want to avoid these unless you can try them on in the store and be sure.
Nearly Perfect Running Shorts
I've been searching for a good pair of shorts with a decent amount of storage for races and I think I've found them. The 2-in-1 is a nice halfway point between a regular pair of shorts and half-tights. I wasn't ready to full-on commit to the tights, and opted for the more modest of the two. Ample amount of pockets for gels, a cellphone, lip balm, keys and whatever else may be needed. But my main quibble has been the drawstring, it's too thin and delicate. It takes some effort to get the drawstring tight enough to my liking. Maybe I have sausage fingers, but I wish they were a bit thicker.
hit the trail
I’ve been wanting to try Janji 2 in 1 shorts for months. Finally could resist any longer. Picked these up on my way to Letchworth State Park for a long run. Put them on and promptly started what became a 15 mile trail run. Great fit. Pockets work great. The liner pockets can hold a soft flask securely. Really excited to have this new option for carrying hydration. I strongly recommend grabbing these at REI if you’ve been looking at Janji trail shorts as I have never seen this design on the Janji site. I cannot wait to add more Janji gear to my kit.
decent but not great. a bit disappointing
I ordered the 7” 2 in 1 version but REI sent me these. When I double checked the ones I ordered were no longer available so I decided to just keep these as they seemed close enough. I hear so much about Janji from podcasts and social media so I wanted to try them. The fit is as described and they are lightweight and comfortable. But I have two issues with these that are major disappointments. The first is the rear pocket that should hold a cell phone. The fit is very tight on my iPhone but the real issue is it bounces like crazy. I have tried a few times and can’t make it more than a 1/4 mile without having to remove it due to the bounce. The second issue is the drawstring is horrible. It’s very thin and flimsy. It makes it impossible to get a tight fit. It also is so thin it makes the knot difficult to untie. I wouldn’t even attempt to wear these for a long run or race as there is no way to easily untie this if I was in a hurry in a race or tired or my fingers were overly sweaty. Overall these are OK but not for the price and don’t live up to the hype.
Awesome versatile running shorts
These are awesome shorts. I have thick thighs so I love that the longer liner doesn't ride up. It holds a phone securely and plenty of space for ID/credit cards, gels, etc.
Short waste dont fit. Don't buy from janji
Dude these sizes don't fit the waist 2nd pair different size. This company is not worth wasting your time on at all.
