Does the job decently well
This is my first soft flask. For the most part it does what it is supposed to do. It holds water, and flattens down as you drink it. Works pretty well with my running belt. If that was it I'd give it 5 stars but there are 2 minor issues. It takes a bit of work to get the lid closed while it is full. I've used this on 3 outings now, and I am starting to get better at it. You gotta press that thing down hard. Sometimes it leaks a tiny bit when it is stuffed in a belt. Not that any of the seams leak or anything, but something with the lid or the nozzle has gotten my butt a tiny bit wet while I was running. It was hot out and it wasn't bad enough to drain the bottle.
Not quite suitable for Salomon vests
I got this to replace a lost Salomon flask for my ADV Skin vest as it was the only option in-store - there's something about the shape of this bottle that doesn't fit into the vest pocket well. HydraPak does sell the UltraFlask which should fit better, but REI only stocks the 600mL version and I think you need the 500mL version (which HydraPak does sell) to properly fit the ADV Skin.
A little too short. Great lid!
Great addition to my running vest. Unfortunately a little too short to sit on the bottom of the pouch and still stick out the top. Love the lid snap to quickly open up to a wide mouth drinking option
Good for refilling during races
The latch on the cap is a little hard to remove, especially when your hands are wet or sweaty. But super secure- no leakage. The wider opening makes filling up at aid stations way easier.
Awesome.
This was a life saver at the theme parks this past Weekend. It was the perfect size to refill with ice and water and then put In my belt bag for store age.
Simple To Use, Leakproof and Space Saving
The greatest features of this flask are in the review title. My only complaint is that what starts out ice cold warms up rapidly on the trail.
