Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Better than baggies!
I tried these after trying the famous Patagonia Baggies and being unimpressed. These are everything I wanted the Baggies to be! nice and loose fitting, generous pockets, durable fabric, and a bonus zip back pocket! I thought the built in belt would annoy me, but it's actually quite helpful because these run a bit large. I'm wearing an XS (26" waist) and I like being able to cinch it tight or loosen it when I'm feeling bloated. I love this green color but I want them in black!
Comfy summer outdoors shorts
I love how the shorts fit tighter at the waist and opens up so you get a breeze through your legs. Pockets on both sides are deep enough for large phones which is often a problem I have with many of my bottoms particularly for hiking unless I’m wearing leggings. The zipped pocket in the back is a nice extra for small things I don’t want to lose (car keys, chapstick, etc). The only reason I knocked down a star is that I’m just not a fan of the belt since it doesn’t stay tight. I have to continue to tighten, particularly when I’m wearing a backpack and its hip straps sit right at the waist which ends up loosening the short’s belt. I would probably use this more as beach shorts to wear over my bathing suit instead of for hiking. Color and pattern is very unique!
Runs Big… Versatile Hiking Short
There are some things I really love about these shorts and some that I really don’t love. For starters, these shorts ran really, really big. Had I known, I would have sized down. Due to this, they were incredibly unflattering. The belt feature is a nice feature to make sure the shorts never slide down. I love the fun print, and how enjoyed the large mesh front pockets. However, when I put my phone in my front pocket it pulled down on the one side. These pockets might be best for some short term storage, or lightweight snacks. I love that these shorts can be worn in the water and are a quick dry fabric. It makes these really versatile. On my flat hike, I had no issues with my shorts riding up while walking. However I did have a slight issue when I jogged with them. Overall, I enjoyed the length of the short. I don’t know if these will be a “go to” short when hiking due to how big they are. Be sure to try and exchange sizes if needed. These have potential when they fit right to be a great hiking short.
Disappointing
I really wanted to like these, and thought that I would, especially since I really liked the print (Golden Hour Blue Nights), deep pockets, and the 4 inch inseam. I might still use these as kayaking/paddle boarding short since the water repellence is really good, but I hated these as a hiking short. The first issue I noticed immediately is that the belt loosens easily with minimal strain, so I was constantly pulling the strap so that I didn't have a floppy belt. Sitting down or even just some time walking the trail would loosen the belt, rendering it useless and annoying. The next major issue was the material which is coarse and has no stretch. Since the shorts are on the baggier side, the lack of stretch doesn't inhibit movement too much, but the coarseness led to chafing between my thighs after just a couple hours of hiking. The inseams left my inner thighs raw, and I couldn't get out of these fast enough when I got back to camp. Less important but still disappointing were the pockets and fit. The front pockets are deep which is nice, but the zipper pocket is in the back. Personally, I love a good zipper pocket on outdoor-wear, but would much prefer it on the front or side. The fit was alright from the front but the back left a lot to be desired. I don't think I have a small rear, yet I was swimming in fabric back there. I'm pretty pear-shaped and still somehow managed to look like I have a flat backside. Overall, these just didn't work for me. While these shorts have some great features like a fun print, water-repellent fabric, and deep front pockets, they ultimately fell short for hiking due to the unreliable belt, uncomfortable material, and unflattering fit. They might work better for my water activities, but I wouldn’t recommend them for long treks or to anyone prone to thigh chafing.
Great hot weather shorts
These shorts are perfect for the FL summer. They are baggy which allows for great airflow, especially when it's hot outside. If you get the shorts wet or get really sweaty, they dry quickly. The side pockets are large which makes fitting your phone, keys, and snacks very easy. The back pocket also has a zipper and there's a built in belt which are both nice features. These shorts are great for hiking (especially in the heat), water sports, and everyday wear. I look forward to using them more.
easy wear, easy clean - great multipurpose shorts
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Wonderful shorts. Used on day hikes and around the house with a toddler - spilled yogurt is no match for this fabric - very easy to clean. Belt loosens easily when I bend down, doesn't provide much support, but waistband remains sufficient. Front pockets are deep and open, so a phone won't stay in them, but keys and small objects will. Back right pocket zips for extra security. I usually wear a S but these XS fit too, so if you are between XS and S, I'd go with XS.
Not for tall skinny girls
I was so excited for these shorts, but tbh I'm kinda turned off by the way they look on me. I feel like they looked way better on the other people in review photos. I'm built like a beanpole at 5'10" & a size 0 in jeans; XS is giving parachute pants on me... idk. the material looks and feels great and they seem like perfectly great quality, I just don't feel cute in them at all and can't decide if I should return or give them some time to maybe grow on me. the sides flare out like a lampshade, butt is giving diaper, and without the belt cinched the waistband is gaping and falls to my hips even though it's elastic... but I saw another XS in the reviews and they look great on her so maybe it's just my body type? I know I'm thin but I just feel like there are still a lot of girls that are smaller than me so I don't love that an XS is too big for me :( great shorts otherwise as far as I can tell so far
Sturdy shorts are great for water sports
I wore these shorts when I used a stand up paddle board. I like that they have two side pockets. I used the rear zipper pocket for my key. The size runs generous. The fabric is sturdy and the construction is well done. I found the belt to be mostly for decoration because when I tightened it the buckle did not hold the cinch.
Favorite hiking shorts.
I’m always looking for new shorts that I can wear camping and hiking, and these might just be one of my favorites. We did some pretty intense hiking in Kentucky and I wore these for most of my hiking and loved them. We went to waterfalls so they did get wet, and dried off so fast, and also kept me cool since it was warm on the top of the mountains. Another nice thing about these is the thighs are very roomy and not supper tight which is a major plus while hiking.
Not a favorite
I received the shorts from rei trail blazers in exchange for an honest review. The shorts are cute and will be great for paddle boarding. They did not work so well for hiking. The material is stiff and they are a little too short for scrambling up rocks. The side pockets are nice and deep and the print is colorful and fun. I received a size small, it fits in the waist but is baggie every where else.
