Poor Utility for Sandy Environs.
I was told by two surfer-bro-esque REI employees that these were "the platonic ideal of a swimsuit." It was a good line, and got me to drop $70 on this, which I now regret immensely. These worked excellently in river/lake environments, but immediately filled up with sand on my first trip to the beach. I had to get out a knife to surgically liberate the remaining sand from some ill-placed and unneeded extra mesh in the pockets. All-in-all? Not worth spending a ridiculous $70 for poorly thought-out design. I have to assume the REI employees were either A. outright conmen or B. woefully ill-informed about actual swimsuit use. I assume it was the latter, but either way, not a good look for REI.
Blue ones faded in swimming pool
Good suit that looks like it will ware well. But... The blue ones I bought faded to pinkish after about 6 times in the pool (hour each). Just started using the Swallowtail Geo ones. Will update with their condition latter.
Super Versatile
Love these shorts because they can do anything. I wear them as casual shorts with a collared shirt for drinks, as a bathing suit, as running shorts. For travel, these can't be beat because they are so versatile and dry quickly. I liked them so much, I bought two more pair.
incredible shorts
I bough 4 pairs I loved them so much, lining inside can be a little uncomfortable sometimes but you can always cut it out. The pockets are deep, to the very bottom of the shorts and it’s awesome, you can hold so much stuff. At this point I wear them like normal shorts. Also dry pretty quickly and are fairly ridged so they won’t rip or tear easy. Only downside is they don’t stretch at all. Patagonia baggies are the way to go!
Loved baggies for 30 years
I always have 2 or 3 pairs of baggies for swimming, hiking or just hanging around. Thought I could never wear them out. The elastic finally wore out but the shorts didn’t. I never paid $70 for them before but I will. Can’t do a summer without them.
Love the baggies!
I've been wearing various versions of these for years. Great quality.
