[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Catamount 4 Tail Shoe. I run mainly on gravel/dirt roads and paths so a trail shoe is a must! These felt a little tight in the uppers for the 1st couple of runs then I fell in love with them and they have been my go to ever since! I usually purchase a size 10 1/2 to an 11 in women’s and I do prefer a tighter fit. A men’s 8 1/2 have worked well for me. I have an average width foot and the toe box fit is great. I’m 30+ miles in and these have kept me sure footed and the cushion has kept me from any stone bruises! I look forward to many more miles in these! The colors have just been a fun bonus, as the darker teal hasn’t gotten dirty looking.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Catamount 4 and was really excited by the looks of them. When I first put them on they were quite snug on my feet, even with thin socks, but they also felt sturdy and well made. I’ve worn them every day I’ve been out for the past 2 weeks and I really enjoy them. The foot bed is quite stiff, but as that turns out, it supports my arthritic big toe really well, and I feel that there’s good push off from them heel-to-toe. My only caveat is that they eat my socks quite often unless I’m wearing longer socks…but good news is I’ve never gotten a blister when my socks stay stuffed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a Wisconsin trail runner running on icy trails, this shoe has great traction. I liked the design of the sole of the shoe and felt grips handled the snow and icy conditions great. Shoe runs true to size no extra wiggle room but also not tight. Could run long distances comfortably in different terrains. Only suggestion or improvement would be that the gussetted tongue is hard to slide your foot in. Small complaint when overall this is a great running shoe that will be in my rotation for marathon and ultra trail running. The colors are great and appreciate overall lightweight of the shoe for long distance running. Will purchase again to keep in rotation.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Catamount 4 are some of the most comfortable running shoes I’ve worn. The fabric is sturdy yet breathable and while I do wish they were available in more color options the current design is quite sleek. I was shocked when I first put them on by how light they felt on my feet. I’ve run in them multiple times now and am pleased to share that my knees and back do not ache after a long run when I wear these shoes. They provide wonderful support and protection, making running more enjoyable and allowing me to train harder.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After running several miles I can say these are amongst my favorite shoes for trail running. The soles are thick with good cushion with each step. The laces secure tight to my foot with zero sliding around. I have one other pair I currently run in and plan on using these in my rotation going forward. I’m also a huge fan of the aesthetic, in fact they’re probably my favorite running shoe in terms of appearance and colorway. If I was to purchase another pair, however, I would order a half size up as the toe box is slightly more narrow and my big toe rubs slightly. One major thing to know is there is not a lot of arch support which would make them less ideal if you have a flatter foot. The shoes work well for me and I’d happily purchase them again when it’s time for a new pair.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What did you think about the fit and feel? These Catamount 4 trail shoes fit true to size and feel light and fast! They offer a strong grip and great stability when hitting the trails. the design and fabric work together really well, I love the look. The lightness of these shoes is my favorite feature, especially since they are a thicker style trail shoe! You'll hardly fell them at all. If I could change one feature it would be the stiffness of the soles, which are not so flexible. But perhaps they will break in with more milage! Looking forward to finding out. Overall, this is a fantastic trail shoe!
This is my go to shoe for all trails. I race trail races up to 50K in them and love the feel.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using these running shoes for a few weeks now, and I can easily say they are my new go-to sneakers! The fit and feel are excellent — they provide solid arch support and cushioning, making runs of any distance much more comfortable. The fit was true to size, though they felt a bit snug at first but broke in nicely after a couple of runs. The color is not something I'd normally go for, but I’ve received a few compliments already and I feel a lot more stylish vs. wearing my typical black or white sneakers. As for the fabric, it’s lightweight and breathable, which keeps my feet cool during intense workouts. I also appreciate how it wicks away moisture effectively. What I liked most was the combination of comfort and style — they perform well while still looking great. If I could change one thing, it would be to offer a few more choices in terms of color. Overall, a great running shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the fit and the feel of these shoes. They fit true to size and are very comfortable on my feet. The design has been great for me, no more pains and the fabric is perfect. They allow air to flow so your feet don’t get too hot while running. I definitely like the different color combinations they come in I just wish there were more basics…I don’t always like to be flashy.
I am not provided these shoes for free and I believe people who are given shoes for free must not have any right to post a review that only add to the consternation of the really buyers who are spending their hard earned money on the gear. Well these shoes are very disappointing and does not have a ground feel at all, too much cushion and very unstable , the cushion absorb all of your energy and you need to push very hard to move. This is one of the most disastrous update ever done , the original catamount are the most awesome snappy and very stable shoes. I wish I could rerun these.
