[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Catamount 4 is a great trail running shoe for anyone who loves speed and agility on the trails. It has a lightweight and responsive DNA Flash midsole that gives you plenty of energy return without feeling heavy, and the TrailTack outsole provides excellent grip on all kinds of surfaces, wet or dry. The breathable upper dries quickly, which is perfect for stream crossings, and the fit is secure but comfortable, with enough room in the toe box for longer runs. While it’s on the pricier side and might feel a bit firm for those who prefer extra cushioning, it’s an awesome choice for runners who want a fast, reliable shoe for race day or everyday trail adventures.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to lace up these Brooks Catamount 4’s and start training. I’ve had multiple pairs of Brooks in the past and put a lot of miles on them, so I couldn’t wait to test these out. The first thing I noticed is how comfortable they are. They have a nice tread on them which is great for both indoor and outdoor runs. I’ve gone on about 10 runs since I got these, and each time out feels better and better. They’re also super good looking, so I love wearing them while I’m out and about running errands as well. The orange accent is very sharp and I’ve received a lot of compliments on them. Overall, this is a fantastic shoe that is perfect for indoor/outdoor training as well as a casual day out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the catamount 4. Usually in the winter, I train indoors so I look for a shoe that is best for the treadmill. Since it has been mild here, I am using these both indoors and for outdoor training. I am impressed! The catamount 4 is not overly squishy or bulky, but it is comfortable enough for extensive treadmill usage. I appreciate that it is comfortable, but does not effect my stride. I have been training in these for a while, I find that I am choosing them over my other pair pretty often. I also really like the color ways- I get a lot of compliments on the hot orange color and I like the style of them. Overall, this is a really versatile shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Catamount 4’s are a big snug for my liking. I usually wear a 7.5-8, and I got an 8, and I honestly don’t love how snug they are. The toe area is a bit crushed width wise too. They have a fair amount of foam on the heels which feels surprisingly firm. I wouldn’t call these cushy, they are pretty stiff foam. I think sizing up a half size would help make them more comfortable. The overall look is really nice, and the colors are bright and fun. The fabric is mesh-like, but the tongues are all one piece, which is interesting. I think they’re just too tight on me personally, so I find them a bit hot where the tongue foam is too. They do have excellent traction though, and they are easy to run in. I really like the overall style, but I feel like I’d be happier with a wider, more foot-shaped shoe, with a little more room.
LOVE the Catamount 4! I just got into trail running, and its taken a bit to find the perfect shoe! I have always loved Brooks for road running shoes, so I thought I would give this trail shoe a try! I was NOT disappointed. Its light and flexible with the right amount of grip! I feel like I am flying through the trails! Thanks Brooks for making an awesome shoe for an awesome sport!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been really liking wearing these on my runs! The tread is perfectly versatile for comfort on the road, but grip and stability on trails or wet grass. I also love how the fabric of the upper seems like it will rinse off well after muddy runs. This will be my go-to racing shoe for courses that include trails or grassy paths.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Running is built into my regular routine so I naturally have tried many different brands and styles of running shoes. However, I have never found a running shoe that has as much traction and grip as the Catamount 4. Living in New England, we rarely have ideal weather conditions for running outside, especially in the freezing winter months. Regardless of the road conditions, I have been able to trust these shoes to provide the necessary grip and traction needed to safely and confidently run outside, without having to compromise on the sleek design and breathable fabric. I will say that these shoes might be slightly smaller fitting, especially in the toe box, compared to other shoes I have in the same size. The one thing I would change about these shoes would be more arch support, particularly for the longer distance runs. Otherwise, the shoes feel light and comfortable while running. Overall, the dependable tread and durable fabric of these shoes are definitely my most favorite features.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Catamount 4 running shoes are a great addition to my collection. They are lightweight and easy to wear, and have a good cushioning. I love the design and the bright orange color makes these a fun pair of shoes. The sizing runs slightly small. I wear an 8.5 in everyday shoes and a 9 in running shoes, and this pair of size 9s seems to fit a touch smaller than usual. I do think the 9.5 would be too big, so will stick with size 9. I have been using these for indoor cross-training since It's currently freezing where I live, but I can't wait to try them outside on the trails soon!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a longtime fan of the Brooks Ghost line, trying out the Catamount 4 was an exciting change of pace—literally! These trail runners are designed with a neutral profile that allows your feet to move and flex naturally, which is perfect for trail runs. The shift in weight to a more forward position than what you ha e in a Ghost was immediately noticeable, encouraging a solid mid-foot strike that felt perfectly balanced on uneven trail terrain. (It almost kept me on my toes—but in the best way!) The grippy soles were a standout feature, offering excellent traction even on slick or rocky paths. Whether it was loose gravel or muddy patches, these shoes handled it all with ease. And let’s talk about the styling: I am obsessed with the bold bright orange and blue accents. They’re absolute head-turners, and I love that they combine functionality with such eye-catching design. Overall, the Catamount 4 delivered an amazing mix of performance, comfort, and style and are super breathable for warm weather. Whether you're tackling rugged trails or just venturing off the beaten path, these are a fantastic choice!
Love these as well as others I have bought. Colours on trend, comfort paramount that’s why I will not go with anything but Brooks
