In store I really liked these boots since they felt very secure and plush; however, after lightly breaking them in around the house for a few days, I did Teo back to back 10 mile hikes with 1,000+ ft of elevation gain and got some matching blisters under my big toes, a sore Achilles tendon, and a pressure point on my left heel. I probably should have gone for a die up originally, but did end up returning them for the Merrell Moab boot instead. I will say the waterproofing was great both in rain and snow!
I put these through their paces on a trip to Norway and multiple hikes involving mud, rain, rocks, steep inclines, basically any condition you can think of, and they performed fantastically! Hiking boot fit is so individualized but I found them to be comfortable almost right out of the box, the soles performed very well on rocks and slick surfaces, and the waterproofing held up through puddles, mud puddles, and drizzling rain. I appreciated the lightweight feeling of these boots too, as I haven't wanted to relinquish ankle support and make the move to trail runners like some hikers have done.
Took these out on a short (3mi) hike and I found the boot overall very comfortable, with good traction on the soles in muddy patches and on some wet rocks. Toward the end of my hike, I started to feel the slightest chafing at the back of my feet along the Achilles, so I have to try them out again on a longer hike (and perhaps also with better socks) and hope they don't cause blisters back there.
I really liked the shoe. They’re light and comfortable. Definitely go half a size up as they run a tad bit small. I would get this shoe again.
I really liked the way they protect my Feet, the fit is tight so go for half number up at least, they look so great and love the color
My first hike was 7.5 miles and I didn't have any problems. I am prone to blisters but nothing.
Not Waterproof at all, first day just walking on wet grass and feet are soaked.
