Sorry guys, this iteration isn’t making the cut. Coming from the 11 and 12 this one just terribly fell short for me. Sizing was off - too snug overall, i’m a usual 9.5 for the 11’s and 12 with good amount of space in the toe box, but this one i think i can even go up to 10.5. The foam combination is just terrible, really just stiff and feels like a having a brick for a shoe. This one just wins in the design aspect but failed everything else. Just disappointing. If you bought this i bet you already took out the insoles just to use it.
Great overall shoe. Very comfortable. Great lockdown. True to size. Took on long trail runs and hikes with 20+ pound packs. Grippy outsole and breathable upper. Rigid heel counter and comfortable tongue. Areas that could be approved upon his making the internal ankle support more rigid. Shoe caused slight over pronation over long distances causing discomfort in the internal ankle. Shoe feels somewhat plush with the perfect amount of bounce and snappiness. Was able to make quick agile turns without imbalance. ASICS is the most underrated shoes brand out there. Also, make some neutral color ways. The trabucco series are not the most aesthetically pleasing.
This is not a shoe for those who run rough, technically challenging trails. The shock absorption capability of the Gel Trabuco 13 is nonexistent. You feel the hard impact of your foot hitting the ground throughout your leg and hip. The so-called rock plate provides no protection. Each time your foot hits a root or rock you feel it intensely. Indeed, you can even feel the lugs on the outsole of the shoe when standing on carpet inside your house! Asics had a good trail running shoe in the Gel Trabuco 11. Since then the company has completely messed up this line of shoes. If you are a serious trail runner, avoid this shoe.
I liked the shoes initially but after about 160 miles they are already getting holes on the sides. Disappointing because they are a comfortable shoe but just not very durable.
Great cushion and traction, but toe box is very narrow (seems asics has become more like Nike these days, too narrow). Bought for overseas traveling, light hike, short distance run on gravel and road, and these were just perfect for all above. My serious XC days are over but I can say I would not wear these for XC since it’s so high stack and I do not really feel the ground. Another con was takes long time to dry up. Again probably too much material. Last note - asics needs better coloring options. Maybe bring in some darker monotone
Super comfortable trail shoe. Had a previous version and still wear them even though they are wearing out. Love the orange color. The sole is great for pavement or trail. I’m no longer running due to a back injury and 2 bionic hips. But I use them as every day shoes due to a longer lasting sole and a more comfortable fit than a street running shoe.
Maybe it is just my inexperience with trail shoes, but it does feel like more cushion could be used. However, I only feel that when running on crushed limestone or gravel. Definitely durable out in the trail.
Fits great, light and comfortable. I have wider feet and order 2E in other ASICS, but this one fits fine in standard due to toe box shape. My regular shoe size in this was spot on. I did not need to size up or down.
These shoes are amazing! Super breathable for warm/hot trail running while having outstanding cushioning and excellent traction! These are the best of this style trail runner!
These are the best hiking sneakers I’ve ever had my feet feel great on rocks on cement on gravel everything where it was bad before the sneakers help wear and tear of my feet
