These are ideal summertime backpacking and climbing pants. They're very light, with a great soft feel. They have a good amount of stretch to support climbing and scrambling. And they pack into the back pocket for easy storage while backpacking! These pants remind me of the Arc'teryx Incendo pants, which are good for trail running - so maybe these are too! Another great note is that all three pockets are zippered, which is great for someone like me with a bad record of dropping my phone while climbing. The side pockets are also interesting and a little more harness-compatible than others, because they're quite vertical compared to most side pockets.
These pants are my go to! I hike, fish, trek, very little climbing(but great rock pants). The perfect % of spandex allows you to bend and move without the slightest restriction. Cool in the summer for wear. It is form fitting almost like a yoga pants but that is ok. My buddies all ask about the pants and some have tried to buy it but their size has been sold out. I know the back pocket can be used to pack the pant but other than that I don't ever use a back pocket so it would be nice if they made one without one. Other than that awesome pair of pants.
Recently was recommended these pants by a guide on a 5 day backpacking trip in Escalante, UT. Just had my first outing with them on a 4 day trip in Gila National Forest, NM. Very light, quick drying, and breathable even out in the heat, while offering enough protection during some bush whacking segments. Appreciate all the pockets being zippered and the adjustable cinches on the leg cuffs. I wished that it had belt loops for a UL belt to keep them from riding down after multi-stream crossings.
These pants are nice and comfy, I love the fit above the knee, but I find the calf to be a little loose(i have chicken legs though). The material is nice and thin and has a good stretch to it. they fell a little more on the technical side than the casual side. All the pickets zip and there is drawstrings in the ankles.
The only reason these trousers do not have five stars from me is their absence of belt loops- Some don't want belt loops for them a definite 5 ! These are both performance in the field and lifestyle trousers. Mammoth keeps improving in every direction.Great for travel, hiking-all in between & beyond-
Unbelievably durable for how thin the fabric is. I love the light version of the Runbold, my go-to pant. The elastic waist and cinchable cuffs make the pant stand above the rest. I've beat mine pretty hard and they still look new, seriously impressive durability.
Good concept, but I should have ordered black. The fabric is almost delicate. Everything shows. The pockets, the contents of your pockets, quad heads, and every seam on your under garments. I think I'll only wear it with tights underneath.
These pants are great for climbing in temperate weather. Keep you cool and very lightweight. I have scraped these pants in ricks and they are truly abrasion resistant. These are my favorite pants to climb in Hawaii.
These are a great all around light pant. fit is great the zipper pockets are a plus and the stretchy and feel of the fabric makes it a go to when its a bit to chilly for shorts but not quite pant season yet.
Love the fit, I'm 5'9", 155lbs, medium fits like a glove. Nice lightweight stretch pant. Love the elastic cuffs, could use belt loops. I wear them regularly for cold weather running, warm weather hikes.
