I was extremely disappointed with the Salomon Men’s Launch Double Boa snowboard boots. After just one day of use, it was clear these boots were not up to the task. They were incredibly soft and lacked any sort of responsiveness, making it impossible to get the performance I needed on the mountain. The double boa system felt flimsy, and the overall build quality didn’t match the price tag. I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone looking for a reliable, supportive boot. Total letdown.
I have snowboarded for about 20 years, but I also haven’t been snowboarding in the past 13 years, give or take. Back when I rode every day, I always had Solomon boots because of the softer flex, great heel hold, comfort, durability and smaller exterior profile (size 12.5 feet). Before hitting Jackson Hole for the first time in over a decade, I bought these boots expecting all the same benefits. The only one that fell short was the exterior profile. The boots a super comfy, just the right amount of flex to accommodate side hits and the occasional rail, but still tear up the back country, etc. I’ll let you know about the durability - I have whistler coming up next week - but the exterior profile drags a bit on toe side. Not enough to affect your carving, but just enough to snag the lip if you’re trying to cork your spin. For someone that rides often, you probably wouldn’t notice. Like I said, it’s been a while for me, so it was a little painful. lol.
Amazing boots. Went a half size up. Fit beautifully
