CamelBak Hydrobak Light Hydration Pack

Perfect size and setup for short/light hikes. I have larger CamelBak bags, that allow me to carry more gear for cycling, etc., but wanted something for hikes that would replace carrying a water bottle, or clipping the bottle to my belt, and dangling around. This is the perfect size, but still has a small pocket to carry some stuff. I can even stuff it in my larger Camelback on a trip, so that I can use it for the light hikes, and the larger one when needed. Biggest benefit - having access to plenty of water, in a lightweight/small package, with your hands being free.

Hydrate or Die-drate

Exactly what I needed! I wear it primarily for running and it works great for carrying water, snacks, my keys, & phone. I can tell the pockets aren't designed for quick access while running and why its marketed for cycling, but it did the trick for me and has a lower price point than comparable hydration vests offered for runners.

Compared to previous models, accessing

Compared to previous models, accessing the bladder on this Hydrobak is difficult to say the least. Once you unzip the bladder access area, you them have to detach the retention strap then pull the bladder out of the bladder area far enough to unscrew the lid. Once you've filled the bladder, you then screw the cap back on, push the bladder back into the storage area and reattach the retention strap to keep the bladder from falling into the bottom of the bladder compartment. Don't even think about trying to quickly refill the Hydrobak at an aid station during a race - it isn't happening. Overall, another example of what can happen when someone over-engineers a product that works fine as-is.

Uncomfortable

This is my first camelbak, i ride mtb. Doesn’t quite fit without either choking me or cutting off arm circulation. I’ve tried adjusting this thing every way possible and the straps are either sliding up around my throat (very uncomfortable and distracting) or cutting off circulation to my arms (fingers start to tingle). The pack design is perfect for water and able to store my large iphone 11 pro max but the straps are bad enough for me to get another pack. I will still stick with camelbak but not this design. Im 6 ft 190 lbs with average build so it cant be just me.

First CamelBak Product

Perfect for those short hikes when you need to stay hydrated but don't need to carry all the usual gear, clothing, and other paraphernalia. It works perfectly and is of very high quality. The small zippered storage compartment is perfect for keys, wallet, phone, or snacks. This is my first CamelBak product and I like it so much I have already purchased another, larger (100 oz.) hydration pack for the longer all day hikes. I only wish the bite valve cover was included instead of being sold as an accessory.

So Disappointed!

This is my first CamelBak product. The quality is excellent, however, the fit is terrible. This must be meant for a smaller framed person. The sternum strap rides up and presses against my throat. Really uncomfortable. I've tried adjusting it, but have not found a way to improve the fit. I'm 5' 11", 180 lbs. I disappointed as I was hoping to use this for short hikes and bike rides. Just not going to work.

Hydrobak 50

With the original tube the length was to short to use on my dirt bike while wearing safety equipment (29"), The new hose that Camelbak sent me is 39" long which will be perfect. I still don't care for the new 45 degree mouth piece over the old 90 degree. I think it is because the fatter hose is not as flexible like the thinner hose was and easier to bend.

Need a SUP division

I was looking for an option for long distance paddle boarding. The strap location will make that impossible. The water tube should have a neoprene sleeve. This would allow user to wire the valve in a hands free position. In races you can’t let go to get access to H2o! I like the size but unfortunately it will only be used on land!

Both me and my roommate

Both me and my roommate purchased this same Camelbak before a 3 day music festival, and both of ours leaked around the cap seal from the first fill up. We were soaked and had to get refills more often. Very disappointed in this product and this brand. The fit and look of the product were fine, however.

It leaks

I might be a newbie or maybe I got a defective one. It does all the job but the leaking part. Every time I fill it up, it leaks badly on the even when I turn it left first to hear that click before I turn it to the right to close. I’d gladly give a 5 star when I fix this issue.
