Love these shoes!! I was able to get them on a Black Friday deal which made them reasonably priced. Comfy shoe, easy break in and waterproof as advertised. My only gripe and I have skinny feet is I need thicker socks or the heel slips a little. I wear hiking socks so that didn’t matter to me. I have walked through streams, mud, snow, and had dry feet the rest of the day. The gortex is breathable, my feet didn’t sweat and stayed warm. The traction is great. I walked down a steep trail that had smooth rocks from a river and the traction was great. I would definetly recommend these shoes and I will buy another pair when these wear out.
Worst Merrell shoes I’ve ever bought. First, the sizing is just wrong. I’ve been a 10.5 for years and ordered 11.5 in Merrell shoes, and these are a full size off. , tried them out for a while. They are not remotely waterproof. Splitting at seams like pictures in other reviews very narrow and hurt after wearing them . Shoes did not last a year Order number: #A301444733 3/17/24 . even buying at outlet price was a unfortunate waste of dollars Purchased my first product a sleeping bag back in 1969 it has held up better than these shoes
Normally wear Moab 3 High or Low cut hikers these days. I started wearing Merrill Moab’s years go and went through the transitions of the three styling changes. I never 3 pairs of Moab 3s, two mid and 1 low, all goretex. I also have 2 pairs of HOKA hiking shoes. I’ll never give up my MOAB 3s for rough terrain. I saw the Speed 2 advertisement and decided to give them a try. The claims made about the Speed 2 fit and comfort are true. Worn them of several 1.5-2.5 mile hikes while breaking them in and have had no issues. Long term durability is sill in progress. At his point, the Moab Speed 2s have taken a place ahead of the HOKAs in my rotation for light to moderate trail use.
Absolutely my favorite hiking shoe super comfortable actually ordered a second pair about 2-3 weeks after receiving the first pair
Thank you for your rating!
I love the look and fit of this shoe. They are very comfortable and look great with any outdoor attire.
These were really comfortable hikers for me and I really wanted to have great things to say about them. The sole is solid, yet not too stiff and the sole did not feel terribly heavy. Comparable to a heavy duty trail running shoe. However, I've returned 2 pairs in the past 4 months because the adhesive began failing round the styling along the lace eyelets. Both pairs failed in the same exact area. I hiked less than 50 miles in both pairs and neither had been subject to moisture--submerged in water (keep in mind this is a waterproof shoe). Currently the peeling off of the styling does not affect the performance of the shoe, but I'm not willing to see where else the adhesive might fail. So that being said, I'm moving on to another brand especially considering the premium price paid for these. My REI mid-rise hikers which are now 4 years old outperformed Merrell without question.
These are by far one of the most comfortable, supportive, and stylish hikers I have ever worn. Merrell knocked it out of the park with the Moab Speed 2. They breathe exceptionally well even with the GoreTex and the Vibram rubber provides stable cushioning. I have played a ton of disc golf in them the past several months and they have held up incredibly well, showing very little wear in areas more prone to damage. My only complaint is that I wish I had of known there was an asphalt color option!!!
Wow wow! Switched over from hiking boots and took these to our trip to Switzerland for a couple of hikes and let me tell you... I forgot I had feet! Usually on hikes I am super aware of my feet because somethings either hurting or unsteady and I forgot I had feet with these things! And the grip on them?! Well, let me just say for the amount of different terrains these puppies strived over, not a single slip or twist! In the matter of 2 weeks, I put them through it so bad that I almost feel bad for them. 10/10 definitely recommend! Also, they made my outfits look cute!
Great lightweight waterproof shoe that is fashionable enough to wear with anything, but also rugged enough to handle some light trails. This is definitely not a hiking boot, but delivers a lot of versatility. Feet can get hot with the Gore-tex lining, but not bad with the right socks. Wore these on and off throughout Europe for a few weeks. Held up very well and highly recommend.
We're thrilled to know you had a great experience with us.
I bought this recently and I am terribly disappointed. It is coming apart already and I have not even hiked 30 miles yet. I can hardly believe it. As expensive as this shoe is, it should not be coming apart so soon. See attached picture.
