Not my first pair of Merrell Moab boots...but the first pair I've returned. They started out feeling just fine, but after 50 miles or so (not continuous; about 15 miles/week), the rivets holding the lace loops began irritating the top of my feet. Not badly at first; I tried different socks, changed lacing techniques and tightness ... all, unfortunately, to no avail. Another 50 miles convinced me there was nothing I could do to alleviate the pain, so sadly I'll be returning them. I've already replaced them with Danner boots which seem quite comfortable.
Comfortable, waterproof as advertised, lightweight but well built and grippy. I love'm.
These are trash. The one thing Merrell had going for a number of years was that they were comfortable on day 1, but now they have flimsy fabric instead of metal eyelets and a sole that will come unglued as soon as you trip on something. The “waterproof” label is 100% a lie and the price is ridiculous. I feel like an idiot for buying these.
