I bought these pants hoping for their durability. I didn't even use them for climbing. Only everyday wear. After 2 months, pockets have ripped open, you can't even fix them yourself. I strongly advise against buying them. They cost three times ordinary jeans and fell apart after a few months. Climbing pants? Good joke. They are not even suitable for everyday wear, unless you want to buy new ones every month!
Bought these a few months. Love the idea of a pair of do-it-all trousers with a claim of super durability but sadly, they are far from durable. I have only used them around town and before the first laundry the pocket (Inside) fabric was falling apart and some the edge of the pocket as well. Don’t get me wrong, i love these trousers but if you market the product with claims of durability and it start breaking down after a a few months of occassional use then that just not right.
Dawg it wouldn't even be an exaggeration to say these longs are essentially burly jeggings with the style dial cranked to 11. Frankly, I can hardly believe how durable yet stretchy this pair of limb tubes is, and I'm afraid you'll just have to try them for yourself. At first I was worried about spending twice the price of my normal pants for a new pair but after the first day of 9-5 in the office followed by laps at I-street I've been officially converted. Look out churches, there's a new religion in town and it's called comfort, entrance fee is high but there's no penance and heaven is found as soon as you slip into these pants and take two steps.
When I Heard climbing jeans I immediately thought that can’t be comfortable. I was completely wrong I could totally see myself climbing in these jeans I could probably also climb some pretty challenging multi pitch routes while wearing these jeans. The stretch is phenomenal. They do fit a bit snug but after a few minutes you don’t even notice. These are by far the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn! I’m 6’4 225 lbs and got the 36x32. They’re certainly not going to be climb worthy for everyone but I would suggest giving them a try. The construction is great to. I’m looking forward to putting them through ringer. I will definitely be ordering more!
I really like the fabric on these pants, but the fit is not slim. Fit is clearly subjective, I'm 6'1" 170 lbs so pretty thin but not a rail, but these were what I'd call a "relaxed fit" especially down at the ankles so I was a little disappointed that BD called them "slim". They're significantly baggier than the "straight fit" jeans I have from another large outdoor company. If you're looking for a looser fit then these could be great, the fabric really does feel excellent. Some "performance stretch" jeans feel like lycra, but these do not at all. They feel like tough denim, but have just a little stretch. If the fit was more dialed for me they'd be 5 stars.
I purchased two pairs of the Forged Denim pants and have been extremely happy with them. Because of what I do for a living I tend to burn through jeans pretty quickly but these pants are holding up extremely well as they are exceptionally durable. Not only are they comfortable for climbing, moving, and everyday wear... they also look great with a modern streamlined look without being overly skinny. They wear well to the office or out for dinner and drinks but don't slow you down while climbing and exploring new routes. Cant recommend them enough. Black Diamond continues to be my go-to brand, not because I am a fan boy, but because their equipment is bomber.
These are ALMOST my favorite pair of jeans. Have been wearing for 2 months and here are my thoughts. First, the fit is a tad strange. They are loose around the ankles and nice around the thighs. The fact that they're loose at the ankles kind of makes it difficult to roll up your jeans and keep them rolled up. My BIGGEST complaint is the waist size. I always buy a 34 because it fits me a tad big, around the waist and I like the extra room. With these jeans though I wish I had ordered a 36! (all other jeans fit me the same so I HAVE NOT GAINED WEIGHT.....I hope.) Other than that, these really do have the potential to be my favorite pair of jeans.. after visiting a tailor.
I wore these bad boys for a week straight of hiking and climbing in Tuolumne Meadows during August (40-75 degrees F). Brought them home and washed them and can’t find any signs of wear at all! They will feel tight after a wash but stretch to just the right size after wearing them for a bit. Hands down the most comfortable and functional piece of clothing I own! All the toughness of denim but the stretch of yoga pants!
Bought the first pair last year and they are bomber. Good fit and cut. Only downside is my second pair had the photo basically start shredding??? All in all good jeans
I love the stretch and feel of these jeans. I usually wear a medium or 32”. It’s more like a 33”+... and stretchy. I’ll definitely get another pair, sized down.
