Run big and very short
I have a small waist and relatively large hips and thighs. I'm often between sizes and ordered both small and medium. I tried the small first -- they are too big except across the rear, and "ruche" along the sides. Despite my heavy thighs, the bottom band is loose. These are definitely not for a curvy person of any weight. Fit aside, these shorts were supposed to have an 8" inseam, but the actual length of the shorts I received is closer to 6.5". The online photos show a garment that is longer than it is wide, but the shorts I received are basically square. As an older woman, I need more coverage, not less.
Not what I was expecting
These shorts fit very strangely. Wide loose legs, shorter than the photo. Very bulky chamois. I can't wear these. Hoping if I take them back to REI, we can work something out. I bought a women's medium, a size in bike shorts that usually fits snuggly on me. The material felt good and sturdy but the fit is terrible.
DO NOT Bother unless you have huge quads maybe
Not wearable. Legs are out of shape and very wide. Padding is awkward. I am hoping that I can take them to an REI store trade them for something that I can actually wear.
