Lacking pockets and adjustability.
Well, if you have a very specific need for a sharp-looking water-resistant outer layer that comes in tall sizes, then this could work. However, the near total lack of pockets, and NO belt options or adjustability on the waist make these highly impractical for general use as a travel or hiking pant. More testing and customer input was clearly required. Fix those issues and I will happily buy again.
No belt loop or waist adjustment options
I hold Mammut in fairly high regard when it comes to technical clothing, which is why I am surprised and disappointed these pants have no option to secure the waist. That's the beginning and end of the story of these pants for me.
Slim, ultralight stretch. Could be more adjustable.
The material is very light, both in weight and durability. Within one day of climbing in the high alpine, I put a small tear in the rear end scootching over rock. Based on that experience, these come with me as a backup layer: they live in the bottom of my pack on ski tours and winter climbs to zip over my softshell pants in case conditions get properly wet/cold. They seem well-made given the light material. The zippers haven't let water in and the ankle velcro makes me confident the ankle won't tear open. That said, I wish there was more adjustability in the waist and ankles, via either more elastic range or cinches. My sides are pretty straight and I can't fit too much underneath these, but the waist is just barely tight enough. The ankle Velcro won't snug down to my leg, although it does tighten enough to lock over ski boots or large mountaineering boots.

Love the length, not so much the material
The length, fit, and features (button-up, elastic waistband, water resistant pocket) are all wonderful. They are also super lightweight and pack very small. The material is just not tough enough though. I know they aren't marketed as being tough, bushwhacking pants and I've treated them very gently as a result, yet they've still developed some pin-prick holes. I honestly don't get who these are for. Sure, maybe thru-hikers who know they won't be encountering any bush, won't be kneeling in them and are very careful not to scuff them might enjoy these, but they are otherwise too fragile. Mammut and other brands need to create general use rain or hard shell pants for people not climbing 8000m peaks below freezing or pants so light and delicate only a small niche of people can use them. I had to give a decent rating because these are about the only rain pants I can find that fit my 6'6", 190lb frame. I bought the 48 long/tall.
