These are my new go-to trainers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these in the gym a few times now. My workouts mainly include weight training and plyometrics. The sole feels more flexible and the heel feels even more cushioned than a previous version I had. These updates were clutch for burpees and box jumps! The heel is super stable which is helpful for any weight training I’m doing. I haven’t run in them, but I wouldn’t want to run more than two miles or so because of the flatter heel. I’d avoid these if that’s what you’re looking to do in them. They fit true to size and the upper portion is very comfortable. It has passed all my grueling sessions so far and am really pleased with their performance!

First impression: WOW

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned several of the previous generations of the Free Metcon, which I've always loved. I've always thought they were the perfect gym shoe. When I tried these on I literally said "Wow", they are SO comfortable. I've liked versions in the past but I love these! They have some stretch, but also feel snug and keep me stable. Wishing I stuck with my normal shoe size on this version, I went half a size up on these which I've done for all of my previous Free Metcon's but that doesn't feel necessary for this version. Overall, I've been loving these for my high-intensity workouts and the little bit of running that I do as a warmup!

My favorite version

I have had multiple colors of each version. I loved the 5s and had 4 pair but I noticed they were a bit narrow in the toe box. I do have wide feet so keep that in mind. I don’t wear these throughout the day, 90% of the time they are worn only during workouts. The 6s are back to a wider toe box, more arch support while somehow feeling like a softer sole. They’re great for workouts, stable enough for lifting and flexible enough for light running and plyometrics. I will buy other colors, because that’s what I do 🤷 as these are the best Metcon Free version yet. I only wish they would allow customization similar to Metcons.

Sole lifting!

I am a Metcon Free fan through and through. I’ve had the last several models of the shoe and have never had any issues. I was excited to be gifted this shoe for my birthday. Unfortunately, the material on them was not the aesthetic (they appear like neoprene) I was looking for, but knowing the comfortability of previous models I was excited to get to work. Within only a few workouts, I noticed the sole starting to lift. After two months, I decided to send them back as the sole was completely lifted on both shoes. I’m unsure why they did not hold up like the previous models but I think it could be because the sole was not one solid piece and the thinner bottom sole is what lifted.

Great outta the box…..

These just came last night. I had a couple of pairs of older versions that were my favorite for the type of workouts I do at HEW. (CrossFit style). I wore them to the gym tonight and right out of the box there was no break-in period. They were super comfortable with better arch support than my older ones. They worked well with the Olympic bar moves, jump rope, and running. Toe box is wide enough for my wider forefoot. The upper material doesn’t seem as burly as the older version so time will tell if they hold up to rope climbs, etc. I’m really not a Nike guy overall b/c I usually have foot pain from their narrow toe box but Metcon free has been solid from gen to gen so far.

Deceptive picture with customized white metcon

Just an FYI** I ordered a customized version of these in white, with the flyknit material is the base. However the shoe that came in doesn't use that, even though the picture online will show the knit material. So if you order these expected the picture, just know it won't be made that way.

Huge disappointments versus the Metcon 5 Free.

So disappointed. I waited so much for those, but they are by far the worst of the metcon free line. I normally use my Metcon Free 5 all the time at the gym and also for outside warm ups. They are almost perfect I tried and bought the metcon free 6, wow, so bad. First they felt very cheap, the lacets are not strong enough to hold your foot, and they are so WIDE. I am 6'1 and 200 and pretty wide foot but still, so much space, it makes them uncomfortable for any training. It looks like they made the 6 to be a walking shoes not a training shoes. My advise, buy the metcon free 5 if you are serious about training. If you want to walk around and do groceries buy the 6

5’s are way better.

When I first saw this model, I wasn’t sure about it. I bought it for the aesthetics and color Hoping they would fit similar to the 5’s. These feel much bigger and way wider. The little string that holds a shoelace almost feels like it’s gonna rip. We will see how long that will last. the 5’s feel way more durable and better on your feet. The material feels like it won’t last long. Almost looks like the Nike Presto, which rip really easy. Not a big fan of this new model. We’ll see what other reviews say about it.

True to size! Great for everyday wear or working out!

I'd like to say that these shoes just became one of my favorite pair for the gym. I bought them yesterday and wore them today. I spent some time walking in them and working out. They are very comfortable and stylish. I love that they are true to size and that the tongue is stitched to the shoe, so you can slip into them easily. If you need to, you can also tighten with the laces. I'm considering picking up another pair in a different colorway.

Such a solid and versatile pair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first time I put them on I was unsure and felt a little too stiff for my liking, but once I started moving around my initial thoughts went out the window. From lifts, walks, and everything in between I felt comfortable and supported in these beauties! I was able to go from heavy squats to box jumps with no problem and was never uncomfortable during my sessions. These are now a must have for when I hit the gym.
