I have heard about how amazing these shoes are from many, so I decided to finally give them a try. They do perform very well for both trad and sport climbing, but I’m disappointed in the quality. After only 3 wears while climbing in the Creek, the rubber is separating from the leather upper. It has only happened on the right shoe, so I’m thinking it may be a factory defect? Regardless, for the price they shouldn’t be falling apart so quickly. My Finales have lasted way longer without such issues.
Dissapointing for $200 shoes . Loops tore after 3 or 4 times wearing them. 3 starts because these are great outdoor shoes for edging
I love these shoes, and I have a hard time switching to the stack of pairs in my closet. But I also feel that I need to because I burn through these so fast. I purchased these in November and, because of injuries, my climbing has been pretty light. Maybe 2X per week. I'd punched a hole in the toe by March. I don't expect super-strength rubber from any shoe, but 4 months of mileage for shoes that run well north of $200 will make you reconsider. If you've got a Dumpster of cash, or you're sponsored, these shoes can't be beat. Super edgy, comfortable and you can trust them on anything from slabs to cracks.
Great overall outdoor rock shoe. Awesome edging, slightly more curve in the sole but not aggressive. Old ones would sometimes rip at the inside lace eyelet, they’ve improved that with a neon green tougher lace protector! Comfortable on long climbs, perfect stiffness. Awesome shoe!
I love these shoes. I use them about 3 times per week. I am not a good climber. But I go all out almost every time. These shoes have given me a lot more confidence on footholds. They are comfortable and they break in fast. I got 1/2 size down from my normal shoe size and they fit perfectly. I have noticed that the soles of the shoes are wearing out fast. I have very little to compare them to as the last time I climbed weekly was when I was a kid. But for the price point, they should last longer. That said, I will probably buy another pair at some point. But I’ll be grouchy about it.
Love my TC pros. I purchased them for trad climbing as I already had a pair of sport / bouldering shoes that I liked, but these have slowly taken over those roles as well. They are so versatile, effective, and comfortable on any type of climbing terrain that they are usually the shoe I bring with me to the crag or wall, no matter what type of climbing I'm doing.
I am extremely disappointed in REI’s failure to stock shoes in smaller sizes. TC Pros (and all other climbing shoes, for that matter), can be worn by any gender and are made as small as size 34. I like to wear them for crack climbs or multipitch routes. TC Pros are unisex according to La Sportiva but REI does not seem to think that women or other people with smaller feet may want to wear them. This problem has occurred with other shoes as well and I tend to buy my climbing shoes elsewhere.
These are so comfortable and they definitely allow for a lot of flexibility. I specifically like climbing shoes that are laced because I feel that you can customize your fit!! Great arch as well, not too uncomfortable.
Purchased around the end of last winter and have been climbing in and out of the gym with them ever since. Extremely comfortable, and the high top ankle always for more comfort and the ability to avoid those typical scrapes when working on slab projects. My GO-TO climbing shoes for relaxed and extensive climbing, especially multi-pitches. I got my pair in a 9.5 when I typically wear a size 10 in street shoes (vans). A huge supporter of the La Sportiva TC PROs!
this shoe literally falls apart after minimal use. the rubber is poor quality and the new Vega fabric holds smell worse than the older ones. they really botched the upgrade/
