Best active winter pants

I got these pants for an ice climbing course. They were the perfect top layer. They keep you decently warm and you can use a lighter or warmer layer underneath depending on your activity level. I have since been using these pants over leggings for my snowy hikes. They are incredibly comfortable and the stretch is key for high movement winter activities. I also greatly appreciated the petite size! So hard to find this in pants. They were the perfect fit. There is some thicker fabric at the bottom which has helped protect it from crampons while ice climbing and micro spikes while hiking/running. I would highly recommend these pants for colder outdoor activities that require a good deal of mobility.

I never write reviews but.....

I own a little gardening business and bought these pants for working outdoors in cold rain and winter conditions. They are very comfortable, I love the waist closure button and belt and all the pockets. I have only worn them once so far, but they shed rain well, have good stretch/ movement, and look good too. I wear a size 6 in the Ferrossi pants ( my fave pants for outdoor summer work), my waist is 29"; I wasn't sure if I should order a small or medium since I am on the cusp, but happy that I ordered the S, there is still room for a thick base layer underneath. I definitely recommend these and wish they came in Hunter green so I could talk myself into needing second pair.

Great material

I really liked the feel of the material - it was very comfortable, with great stretch and movement. Unfortunately, I had to return the pants because they were too long/tall (I'm 5'4").

Perfect for winter hiking! I’m 5’1” and the short length was perfect for me. This was first time wearing Outdoor Research and I was impressed with quality.

long

I ordered these in a short. I am 5'4" and the pants are 2-3" too long. I' not that short. I don't know how to find a short version in snow pants.

Great as usual

I’ve been wearing the cirque pant as an Alaskan guide for years. The 3 is just as solid as every other pair I’ve had over the last 15 or so years.

Very big

I used the OR size chart and ordered S Short. It’s huge, even with a base layer.
