Bad durability and quality
I was very excited about these pants with the fit and colour. But the quality and durability is not good. I’ve worn them 10 times and already have 3 years and starting to see more already. I feel like I should be getting more wears before they start ripping. Would not recommend.
Thank you for leaving feedback on the Sentinel Bib Pant. We're sorry to hear that the quality didn’t meet your expectations. We understand the frustration with rips and tears. While we design for durability and performance, factors like friction, elements, and incidental wear can sometimes lead to these issues. We apologize for the disappointment and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Storm day bibs
I live in the Pacific Northwest and spend a good portion of my winters skiing when there is heavy precipitation and deep snow. Having a solid set of bib pants is crucial to staying dry. These bibs have a nice semi-relaxed fit and are easy to move in and do an awesome job of keeping me dry. Sometimes when I am ski touring in these, I unzip the chest area to allow the bibs to breathe a bit better, and I always use the leg vents when touring or hiking which are easy to quickly unzip to ventilate higher near your hip, or lower near your knee depending on your preference. The new back panel section that is not full Gore (older design) is nice since it allows the back area to breathe a bit better. Transceiver pockets are nice and spacious with a tether and inner sleeve to keep your items in place. The chest pocket fits my iPhone 14 Pro vertically, but I usually use it for holding other items that I want to keep warm. I have an older pair of the Sentinel bibs from 21/22 season before this redesign for 24/25 that I used to wear in a size XS. In these new bibs, I wear a size 6 as my true-to-size, but could make the size 8 work as a looser, relaxed fit style. I am 5'5" and 130lbs and typically wear a size 2 or 4(XS or S) in Arc'teryx lifestyle pants and a 26 or 27 in other brands of pants. Definitely very different sizing if you are used to the older size range. Love the Sequoia color!
Restricts movement/ bad fit but otherwise good
These are great quality, stylish etc, but don’t allow for much movement - the stiff fabric for the whole bib restricts my movement when bending/walking uphill (not great for backcountry). Just gets tight in the front of the thighs and butt despite being baggy when standing, maybe it’s partly bc the inside material isn’t smooth against my base layers. I did try a size up but it was overly baggy and a bit long (I’m 5 ft 6.5 in). Probably would’ve preferred the pants not sure but regretting this purchase given the price.
Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Sentinel Bib Pant. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the fit and that they did not suit your needs. We appreciate your comments and we will make sure to pass them to our team.
LOVE the style of this pant!
This is my first year in the Sentinel Bib Pant as I typically run the Rush Bib Pant for touring, but I couldn't resist the Tatsu/Forage/Canvas (Green) combination paired with the Sequoia Sentinel Relaxed Fit Jacket (Deep Red). These bibs fit so well and the fabric is durable and comfortable. I've toured in them a bit and would likely size down if they were my go to touring pant. I'm 5'2" for reference and wear an 8 in this pant and I definitely like my fit to be on the baggier size for freeride and riding at the resort. I run the Rush Touring bib for hiking as it has less material in the chest area and is a bit cooler for the uphill, but if you run cold these are also great bibs for hiking! Loving the new colorways and the chest pockets etc. Just an all around great pant that will last years and years.
Disappointing durability quality
I am incredibly disappointed and surprised that it only took one resort ski day at Mt. Seymour this season to already get a tear in these pants. At the bottom of one of the legs, there is a decent hole in the outer shell. I really like the pockets, design and fit of this item, but at the end of the day, paying this much money for a product that falls apart within the first day of use and does not appear to be built with long-term durability in mind is pretty disappointing.

Dry in Wet west coast conditions
I love these pants. They have kept my butt dry for 3 seasons of snowboarding even in the Wet West Coast winter conditions. They're also very durable and breathable.
Great Bib, but overkill if you wear a long jacket.
I got the black ones last year, and the Rune ones this year, and they are a great pant for snowboarding and touring. I don't have any fit issues and find them true to size. I wear them with different jackets depending on my objective -Relaxed Sentinel, Rush or Alpha SV if wearing a harness. I find with the longer jackets the full bib is a bit overkill, but I don't mind as long as it's not warm. I do tend to get very warm in them if the temps get higher than around -4 if touring (moving fast, no lunches, and I am a solid lady.) Great for catboarding and deep pow days. My only complaint is the zipper. I keep having issues with the zipper I use frequently (right side,) and was told I need to be more gentle and avoid getting fabrics caught in it (oops) as it breaks the teeth (which seems obvious LOL.) On my Rune pair the teeth totally misaligned, and I'll be sending them in. If you've never done a warranty the process is simple and super easy. They say a couple months but I find I get my gear back in about 3 weeks. I never had issues with my Rush Bib's zipper. I'm going to try to be more gentle, and even though I've had these issues I'd still recommend the bibs if you're looking for something with more coverage/warmer.
Initial thoughts on sizing :)
Just wanted to share insight on the "revised" design after owning previous versions of the Sentinel Bibs for those of you curious about sizing. Previously bibs have been in s,m,l sizing and during this time I always wore a medium so I have athletic legs and still had space for base layers. When it switched to number sizing I went to an 8 which is bigger than I expected for the same fit. In this new revised version with the new front zip design I am still an 8, but am a big fan of the baggy room and chose a size ten. The pocket on the front is for a phone and not suitable for a transfer and does not have key clip. Overall, the design and fit are great, just a few changes and wanted to share initial thoughts with my online shopping friends :). Let it snow!
Great fit. Not waterproof.
Not waterproof. I love the fit. I sized up so I can wear shock shorts under them and still have some extra room. That does make for some extra fabric up top but not a huge problem. After a rainy day on the north shore mountains I was damp. I brought them in to he tested and sure enough the fabric failed. Thankfully Arcteryx came through on their warranty and I have a replacement voucher. I don’t plan to try the EPe fabrics again anytime soon. I am not convinced they have it dialed in.
Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Sentinel Bib Pant. We are sorry to hear about the issue you experienced with the fabric failing. We appreciate your comments and we will make sure to forward them to our team.
Great bibs for all around use (touring & resort)
These bibs are super comfortable and have a good variety of pockets which I am always a huge fan of! Chest pocket that works great for a transceiver, which is a safe distance away from the leg pocket to put your phone. They also nailed the zipper for easy bathroom pit stops. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great all around bib. If youre between sizes, I would recommend going down a size as they fit ever so slightly on the big side.
