We used innovative materials—including synthetic leather, GORE-TEX inserts and Thindown® hybrid insulation—to make these warm, waterproof, winter-ready REI Co-op Thindown Sorona GTX mittens.
- GORE-TEX ePE nonfluorinated waterproof/breathable inserts fend off the elements
- GORE warm technology means materials and construction are optimized to keep hands warmer for longer
- Thindown Sorona® insulation is a down/polyfill blend in a sheet form, offering all the warmth benefits of down without cold spots, bunching or shifting
- Supremely durable synthetic leather shell fabric is significantly more breathable and abrasion-resistant than standard cowhide leather
- Synthetic leather requires less water to manufacture and a small fraction of the chemicals used in standard leather production
- Nonfluorinated durable water repellent (DWR) helps moisture bead up on the surface
- Material overlays protect high-stress areas for better durability and longevity
- Soft, brushed tricot linings wick moisture for comfortable wear
- Gauntlet cuffs with cinch cords keep cold and snow out
- Low-profile wrist leashes can be slid over your wrists to protect against loss or a dropped mitten on the ski lift
- Backs of the thumbs feature a special fabric to help you wipe snow off your goggles

Measurements are stated in inches.
Measure hand circumference: Measure around your dominant hand at the knuckles with fingers together; do not include your thumb. Measure hand length: Measure from the crease at the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.
