Toddler Loves his New Bike!

Our two year old had no idea this was coming and was beyond excited to unbox this new box. This is our youngest kiddo, but our first balance bike. I am disappointed we did not try one before. It was so intuitive for him to jump on and start scooting around. Unfortunately, it was very cold, so he had to ride inside at first but he was quickly scooting around the house and loved it. Once he got outside he was ready to go fast and has had a lot of fun. Getting the hang of balancing has been a natural process that he was able to pick up on his own and it has been great watching him advance. He loves the bright red color. It is light weight and easy to maneuver and turn unlike traditional bikes with chains and pedals that cause the bike to be too heavy for a little guy to easily work on his own. The bike is sturdy and strong, the tires were easy to fill and the quality is great, just like a "big kid" or "grown up bike." This two year old loves his new bike so much that he wants to pack it for vacation so he does not have to miss any time riding.

Nice balance of features with some room to grow

This bike is a great start but lacks a few features that would send it to 5 stars. Let's start with the good: --very easy to assemble --ridiculously lightweight and well-balanced --fantastic valve stem idea (metal and angled for easy pumping) --a brake! The not so good: --the need to upgrade the bike with the child (no handlebar adjustment, only seat so need to size up as child grows) --no footrest (this was my son's primary complaint) Overall, this is a great bike. It's well constructed, ridiculously lightweight and has a lot of nice features (e.g., brake) that improve safety. My son (4 years old) stated, "I like it but I want somewhere to put my feet." The primary drawback for the rider is the need to hold their feet up once they're moving. I also wish it was a bit more adjustable rather than needing to size up the bike each time my kids grow. From when the bike was ordered to arriving, my kiddos had a growth spurt and outgrew the bike! Just plan ahead and keep in mind the logistics surrounding growth and how long you'll be able to use one before sizing up. I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.

Great balance bike for little kids

My three year old took to this bike immediately. It is lightweight which allowed him start using it without any help and seems to really like the brake. It was very easy to assemble - only have to put the handle bars on, and appears to be very high quality. Very easy to adjust seat height.

Perfect intro bike for kids

The woom ORIGINAL 1 was exactly what we needed for our 3-year old. She was becoming unhappy with her tricycle since her older sister had a "big kid's bike" and she wanted one of her own so decided to try the ORIGINAL 1. From the moment we opened the box, we knew we had a winner. It was expertly packed and arrived in perfect shape. Assembly was quick and easy and we wasted no time in getting everyone outside to let her zoom around. The ORIGINAL 1 is very intuitive to use and she took off without any instruction. We're still working on teaching her the rear brake, but she can easily reach/use it (she just needs to learn when). The strap that prevents the front wheel from turning too much is a great design and has likely saved us from a few skinned knees. Overall, it's been great for our daughter and I think it will make the eventual transition to a "big kid's bike" much easier.

Stay away from this bike, horrible quality

This bike is terrible on so many levels I felt the need to write this review so parents stay away. My main two problems are: - Brake: It never properly worked since the first time we tried the bike. Completely disintegrated within 3 months. No support from customer service. Knowing a few bikes it is very easy to tell no thought has been put into the brakes, horrible quality and design. This bike having brakes was the reason we bought it over other options, this fell apart within weeks. - Tires: They might look cute but they are incapable of holing any pressure. Horrendous design once again prohibits you from pumping air properly. You need to pump new air almost every week which takes a good 10 minutes before rides. - Price: For a bike with no redeeming qualities, this bike is priced like a car. We bought this bike thinking we are buying something high quality and long lasting. By far the worst bike I owned in my lifetime. All these problems make the bike unusable and dangerous for your little ones. Save your child and your money, buy a better built bike.

A bike so thoughtfully designed to fit little ones

We’ve tried out quite a few bikes with our 4 year old but haven’t had much success thus far. She gets nervous if they go too fast and she doesn’t have control. The woom bike is the first one she’s really enjoyed!! The adjustable seat height made it so both my 4 year old and my 1 year old could enjoy the bike. But the handlebar brake was what really put my older daughter at ease. She liked that she could control the bike! We thought it was so cool and thoughtful that the brake was adjustable to fit the size of our daughter’s hand! This bike was really easy to assemble right out of the box so the kids were not kept waiting. As any parent knows you don’t want to keep your kids waiting when there is a new toy. As road and mountain bikers my husband and I were both impressed with the construction of the bike. From the ergo grips to the light weight frame we were impressed. Overall 10/10 experience with the woom bike. We’ve already spent tons of time outside enjoying it.
