Such a disappointment!
I bought this bag 2 days before a trip and have used it once. After a single trip, the outside of the bag looks like it’s been on a hundred trips! It’s scuffed and most frustrating of all-TORN. I wanted to love this bag soooo much, and I do on the inside.Appreciate how much I can pack in it & how much room & flexibility there is inside.
Rugged and unique
Great amount of space - sufficient for a 10-day trip to the Alps with gear, hiking clothes and shoes - in France! Attention to detail is superb with reinforced stitching in the right places and internal zippered compartments to organize each side of the duffle. Unique colors help you find it easily at destination! Will use this for decades - it is that high quality!
Needed a bigger bag!
I really like how much space this two sided bag holds. The handle is really sturdy. The outer straps also help to make the bag more compact. The downsides are I checked this bag to and from my last destination, and my new bag looks like I’ve owned it for years. The fabric scuffs easily. Also, if the fabric around the zippers was stretchy, like the older Burton bags called this the stretch zone, you’d be able to fit items easier. I looked for years to replace my Burton bag that I used for 12 years, which has similar design. Hopefully this bag will last just as long!
Great rugged bag for European streets
I bought this bag for a Europe trip—I wanted bigger luggage wheels for rolling over cobblestone streets—sometimes for a couple miles at a time since I tend to walk everywhere instead of getting a taxi/Uber. So far it’s come with me to Spain, Portugal, and Poland and worked like a dream! It’s a really cute bag and I’ve been getting compliments from strangers. I was worried it was too small for a check in bag but it’s a great size—I can lift it and carry it if needed and it’s not too heavy. I packed clothing for several weeks, running wear, a winter coat, 3 pairs of shoes and toiletries. I’m very happy with my purchase.
Durable, handy roller for long-haul trips
Needed a larger capacity bag for an extended international trip, and this one definitely fit the bill. It's rugged and is easily expandable—or compressible—depending on your needs. Even though it doesn't have four wheels, the two wheels are sturdy enough to roll around rough or uneven pavement or surfaces. Yes, the vinyl does get scuffed while being handled as baggage, but it doesn't mess with the overall integrity of the case. If you're worried about your baggage "looking clean" after a long trip, invest in an aluminium roller instead. But, if you want a practical sturdy travel bag, this one's your best bet.
Not too big, not too small
Just received this bag after much searching for a mid-size gear bag. I have used it for one week long trip across the country and boarding 4 different flights. It truly is the perfect size when you need to bring a light gear load as well as casual wear. The rollers seem sturdy and the shell held up pretty good overall with a few scuffs. So far, after one use, I am really happy with it. Well thought out compartments and robust clips/handles and design. Very glad to not have to haul a massive gear bag through the airport. Also, very happy to support a company that promotes ethical sourcing and minimizing waste!
Reluctantly very good
This bag isn’t my ideal, I have 2 normal Allpas that I adore, this being locked into rolling is a reasonable solution to travel with my bulkier dive gear. I guess a lot of “normal Allpa features would be a bit of a waste but I’d have liked a few more grab handles and even a rudimentary set of shoulder straps to be able to throw it on my back if wanted. These are quibbles though as I understand it’s different but I think of tons of versatility when I describe my allpas and this one feels a little to ‘standard.” One last thought, it doesn’t feel very Cotopaxi like… feels more like a licensed product.
Love/Hate this bag
I love the compartments and material of this suitcase but after just one flight it looks like it’s 5 years old. There are burn marks all over it from the luggage belt. I am taking this on a 4 month trip across Europe but after just 1 day I’m worried it won’t hold up.
Fantastic
Excellent size. Ample room and well-thought design. Love the exterior top pocket. Frame is well built but not heavy. Wheels are great. Color is fantastic, I've gotten a ton of compliments!
good effort
There's a design flaw in that the stitching for the smaller top pocket pulls in the exterior zipper. It's hard to close the zipper past that spot every single time, even when there's not much stuff in the bag, and you can see that there's a lot of pressure on the zipper at that location. My guess is that the zipper will start to fail because of it. I'm also a little worried about the durability of the mesh coverings for the interior. It's fine if all you're packing is clothes, but when you start working with things like shoes or scuba fins, it seems dicey. I think a duffle with a single compartment would give more flexibility. On the positive side, it's a really nice-looking bag and is just the right size for a week or two away where you plan to check a bag but don't want something huge.
