I've been running exclusively in zero drop shoes a few years now, rotating an Altra Torin & Topo Magnifly. Decided to give these a try for something with a different feel and drop. This is one substantial show! I am not used to having quite so much underfoot. As a smaller, lighter runner, these are a bit much. Maximum cushioning, it turns out, does not necessarily equate to softness. This shoe is perhaps best suited for bigger or heavier runners. if you're on the smaller or lighter side, or prefer a more minimalist feel, there are better Topo options. A good shoe for the right person, just not ideal for me.
Trail runner that runs exclusively in Topo’s/Altra’s. Needed a road shoe so I started checking out Topo 1st and thought I’d take a gamble on these. Have been out of the road scene for awhile and used to wear top end ASICS. Man, these are absolutely amazing! I love how they feel like they’re almost too much cushion but feel true to surface. They nailed it with this shoe! Just bought my 2nd pair. My 1st pair have just over 200 miles on them and zero signs of breaking down or wearing out.
Great shoes and price is reasonable. My first pair of this brand but I am happy to say there were no issues with fit or having to break them in. They were great right out of the box.
Wow. These shoes feel amazing! Just got them. They feel outstanding out the box. My podiatrist recommended them to me. I have plantar fasciitis, bone spurs in my ankle. I’ve tried Hoka’s, Brooks, Altras. And these Topo by far feel better. Lots of of room for my toes. These say low heel to the drop. But it doesn’t feel that way. Feels very “normal” cushions my heel and in the middle really well. Definitely a keeper!
I wanted to like this shoe as I appreciate a brand doing something different. Unfortunately, after a few minutes running the outer edge of my feet start to hurt due to the pressure of the narrow shoe. This is not what I expected and probably my fault for buying without testing. It's one of those things that you dont' feel when standing and walking initially, but soon after running a short distance. Rest of the shoe seemed fine though, the sole stack was good and not too firm as other reviews have mentioned. Maybe I'll give the Phantom a try..
I tried other well padded shoes and these are by far my favorites. I am not a runner but do wear them for walking also I have foot pain and these are the best for relief from it.
