Great Mid Weight Wind/Rain Jacket

This is a very nice and comfortable middle weight wind/rain jacket. It fit me just like other jackets I have purchased of the same size. I expected it to be slightly larger and slightly heavier but both expectations were not met. Regardless, it is a nice jacket I would recommend using for 40-50 degree temps with some layering underneath. It was worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone looking for this type jacket.

Not even close to my size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I should have read the reviews. I ordered a L, and some L run too big on me, in tshirts I sometimes find a XL more comfy. Well this L I received was way outside my range. Never seen another large that runs this big. Returns are easy. Kind of debating whether I order the M (which won’t be the same sale deal). But it’s a really nice jacket I’d be very happy if it fits.

Your "go to" shell

The Macrthur jacket, is much more than just a waterproof, windproof shell. With a lot of pockets and adjustable hood, it's a great outside layer for both cold and warm weather wear. Great quality construction, and lots of adjustability, makes this jacket fit just right both over another layer, or all by itself. It's become my new favorite jacket.

Very Good Quality

I just received the McArthur rain jacket from Marmot. I own numerous pieces of Marmot gear, including down jackets, vests, parka, and fleece pieces along with several Precip rain jackets. I have always been pleased with the quality and functionality of Marmot products. I read some of the previous reviews, mentioning the generous size of the McArthur jacket and still ordered a large (like most of my Marmot items) My "Whitehorse" parka is the only medium I have. The large is generous, however this is ideal for layering during cooler weather. My arms are not overly long, so the velcro sleeve adjustment strips are ideal, and the overall jacket length will ensure my backside stays dry. As of yet, I have not had the opportunity to wear in the rain, but I am completely confident that I will remain thoroughly dry during a downpour. Nice Metropolitan design. With the excellent pricing, I plan to buy this item for my adult children. Buy with confidence.

It works rather well!

The fit seems to be athletic. The material is in the middle of hard / soft. I like that it is longer and covers backside when it’s raining. It has a light liner. Good for New England weather of early Spring thru Spring and Fall thru late Fall. I have only used it in light rain, not exactly sure how it holds up in a downpour.

Great jacket, sizing not so great

This is a great jacket. Unfortunately, I followed the size recommendation function on Marmot's website and ended up order large size. It was too big and I wanted to exchange to size M, but found out that it was not available after sending my initial order back. I would love to own this jacket in size M, if possible. Thanks!

Go One Size Smaller

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've read the various reviews and looked at the sizing guide. I'm 5'11" 200 lbs, 17" neck 34" sleeve. I ordered a Large and should have ordered a Medium. I'm not big on returning things so will just deal with an oversize jacket. I have lots of jackets and all are Large or XL. The quality seems to be very good though.

Great coat!!

Fit as expected. It’s a bit heavier than a shell. Makes it perfect to layer with a sweater. It really blocks the wind. I was down at the waterfront with just a long sleeve shirt on under my jacket and was fine. It doesn’t breathe well, but I have yet to find a waterproof jacket that does - I run pretty warm.

Unable to exhcange for different size.

Ordered a large. When It came I discovered that I should have ordered a medium. Was not aware that returns through USPS would cost $5.99. When attempting to order a medium, all that is available is large, for more than I originally paid. Will need to look elsewhere for a rain jacket.

Lucky find!

Agreed, this jacket is a medium light windbreaker. This jacket is slightly oversized; it falls into the hard to find "tall"size! Hooray! It's okay in light rain, has a cinch-cord at them hem. I am 6'2 195 lb s and it's a match made in heaven. My first marmot product, not the last!
