Great fit and comfort, but durability sucks.

On the good to great side, this shoe hits the spot for fit and comfort, especially as I suffer from Achilles tendinosis. It is supportive, stable, but not to squishy, and comes close to being a slip on. On the not-so good side, the durability SUCKS. A piece of the sole protector (the yellow 'skin' that covers the softer white plushy sole) came off within a month, and the lining behind the heel is already fraying within 6 months. And I am NOT a runner or athlete - I use the shoe mostly for light walking and occasional light gym work (stationary bike, rower etc.). The previous Arahis (#6) lasted for more than 2 years.

Stable, fun, has some pep!

Quite possibly the funnest and fastest stability shoe out right now! And don’t be dissuaded, it is extremely stable! I’m a neutral shoe runner but dealing with an ankle issue (tibialis) and needed a stability shoe for the next few weeks. I’ve been making great progress with recovery and specific exercises but usually would have a little tenderness by the end of the runs. Not with this shoe. Felt great! Highly recommended. May be the most underrated Hoka.

Great footbed, heel and all, but the 6 is Better

I love the Brand. They did change the Arahi. The Arahi 6 is an almost perfect shoe. The 7 has the great foot bed and stability and durability will probably be excellent. However, the material and low you run the laces through is different and awkward. I made awkward due to the short tongue of the shoe. I still have a new pair of the 6 and it is different. So sad. This just my view - but I do think the 6 is a better shoe for me.

Engineering award for these guys

After 4 weeks, 80 miles, of hilly street jogging in 20 runs: Solid stable platform, feel great uphill on streets, super nice for laps on the local high school all-weather track. Have to play around with laces a bit. 12-wide were factory laced for an average foot, just had to add some slack (all the way down) to relieve snug feel in toe box. When tying I cinch the ankle collar, with a snap-tug, to pull in the heel counter tight (w/o cutting off circulation). Zero squish foam, a truthful "stability" choice for training. Many thanks to Hoka designers.

Great Daily Shoe for Those Needing Medial Support

I've been a runner for more than forty years. I've written articles about running gear. If you need some medial support that isn't intrusive, this is a great option that doesn't break the bank. It accommodates a wide array of foot shapes. It is as durable as any other daily trainer. It's not "light weight," but you're not using this for intervals (although you certainly could, nothing says you can't run as fast as you want in any shoe). I wish the foam were just a tad softer (and I prefer a pretty firm shoe). But that's a minor quibble.

Solid Training Shoe

These are my go to training shoes. I'm on my third pair of Arahi 7 and I've probably put well over 500 miles total between the three pairs. One pair had at least 300 miles on them before they started to wear out. I've run countless 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons in them before moving onto more advanced racing shoes. These are still wear it's at for training though.

Popping sound

Good support and comfortable but one of the shoes made a popping sound on the top toe section when walking. Working it in with a hot blow dryer made it stop. I would buy again.

Size is smaller

I am not sure if I have taken a smaller size as I was told there is no WIDE size available. Other than this, the shoe is very good. The service was excellent.
