Perfect once you dial in the size

I didn’t think the perfect water and hiking shoe combo exists, but it does in the Hopara 2. So comfortable and cushy with no worries about pebbles constantly getting in the sides. Major caveat, the fit is nothing like your other Hokas. Go to REI and try them on and walk around a lot. I’m a size 8 in the Ahari and initially tried the 7 and 7.5. I was torn between the sizes because there seemed to be extra length in the 7.5 at the heel. I went with the 7, but after walking around the house for 15 minutes, I realize the arch is too far back. I purchased the 7.5, and although it is longer, the arch is perfect and after walking around the house in the 7.5, I realize the heel doesn’t slip despite the extra length. I would give an absolute 5-star had the sizing been more accurate.

Good Idea but Narrow Heel

I wanted to love this shoe. The mesh is a great idea for cooling and keeping our debris. The toe box is wide but the heel is very narrow. This means the edge of the arch support pushes up on the inside of the heel. My heels hurt so bad after wearing these shoes. They had to go back.

Runs large and wide

I absolutely adore these shoes. They do run wide and large so be ready for that and order appropriately. I wear a woman's 10. I had to return them and get a 9.5. I have wide feet and these accommodate without having to buy a wide. The soles are cushy but you can feel where your foot is when needed on the trail. I've worn them hiking over 7KM to the top of a waterfall and just running to the grocery store. The sandals are perfect for both occasions. I'd give them five stars if they ran true to size. If your looking for a closed toe option that allows your foot to still breathe and handles rough terrain with ease these are your shoes.

Walking around in Europe

Very very very comfortable and light weight. Walked and walked on uneven ground in Italy and my feet didn’t hurt. Going to other countries that will be warm and my feet are happy.

The outdoor summer shoe

I bought these back in April and waited to write a review till I did all the summer things. Perfect for running errands in the city because they look like a tennis shoe. perfect for creekside and trekking thru slick rocky water beds, creek crossings, waterfall hikes etc. Good to walk around the neighborhood for a couple of miles. I wouldn't take these on a regular dirt terrain hike as rocks and dirt will still get in them. You're better off with your hiking shoes. As far as the fit goes- these are true to size. they're a little wide, they sort of fit like asics shoes, but the shoelaces/ drawstring helps with that. I know what people mean when they say they're narrow by the inside of the heel bc the arch starts it cuts into the heel, but that's something that you can easily get over. I think it's just because of the shoe design, but it doesn't bother me at all really. if you're going to use these shoes to Trek through water or in dirty areas, I wouldn't recommend the creamy white color, stick with darker colors. I used these babies in Sedona, which is Red Rock country creekside a few times. So when I got back for my trip I had to wash them; soaking them in oxyclean using a little toothbrush helps And their good as new.. Overall, I think they're worth every penny!!
