Stardust Shimmer will leave you sad
I impulse bought these in store because the stardust shimmer color was just SO cute. Unfortunately, this is a purchase I now regret. After their first and only wear, the shimmer has completely rubbed off where it comes into contact with the bike saddle. I washed them on gentle in cold water, and the overall shimmer is now dimmed. If you still must have these, plan to go a size up. The waistband has almost no stretch. I couldn’t get my normal size up past my knees. The black pair may have been a far better experience. The chamois in these is pretty great. Unfortunately for almost $100, you expect the design to last past the first wear.
Cute but Restrictively Tight
I tried the Flutter pattern of these bike shorts, and I have to say - they're super cute. I love the multicolor butterfly pattern and the scalloped look at the leg hem. The little pocket is a nice bonus. But both the 2X and the XS (a friend) ran really small and tight - we had trouble getting into them. The waist is a wide, inflexible panel. I thought I might like the support - but I don't. It comes up too high on me, and it's not comfortable for wearing - let alone the flexibility I need while biking. Oddly, the leg is a bit loose. It may work for some body shape - but not mine (2X) or my XS friend.
Best women’s chamois out there
The BEST women’s chamois on the market Thoughtful design. Incredibly comfortable chamois Huge hidden pockets on the side hold everything from a smart phone to a bike bottle. I usually keep my phone, keys, and ID cards in the pockets but you could fit way more. Smart, so you don’t have to wear another pair of MTB shorts over them just so you can have pockets. (And then be wearing two pairs of shorts, which is cumbersome) Flattering fit. The scalloped edges and high waistband add a feminine touch, unlike so many of the boring boxy black chamois out there. High quality fabric. You’ll look rad on the trail. I get so many compliments on these. I have no problem with the scalloped edges slipping or rolling Note — the waist band is snug which keeps the shorts from riding up and falling or rolling down. If you don’t like a high or snug waistband then these are probably not for you. I am 5’6” 130# 39 years old and size small
Absolutely fantastic
The absolute best women’s bike short on the market, I have them in multiple colors. I have gotten so many compliments out on the trail. The fit is incredibly flattering for a woman’s body in all shapes and the scalloped edge with some texture prevents slipping and rolling. The chamois is well padded and designed. I am 5’6” and 125-130 and wear the small. The high rise fit is also really nice and flattering.
Great support, soft fabric
Great for longer outside trail rides and inside trainer sessions! The cushion on these chamois is SO nice. It's generous but super flexible so I don't feel like I'm wearing a diaper at all. The waist takes a minute to get used to. It is slightly stiff when you're pulling it over your hips but I've found once it's on, it forms to my body perfectly providing support without any discomfort or pinching. There aren't any bands around the legs so I don't feel squeezed. Looking forward to wearing these all summer!
terrible fit. would not buy again.
these liners are ridiculously sized. i ordered a small and i can barely get them over my hips. they are so stiff that it feels like pulling on canvas work pants, not spandex. the rise is also extremely high and uncomfortable. not sure the thought behind this design. much prefer style by brands like patagonia that actually dip in front so it doesn’t cut into your mid-section as you ride. these are cut for pre-pubescent teenage girls with no hips and skinny legs, not women with curves and muscular thighs. the padding is on the thin side and the leg grips are dots compared to other brands that are lines.
Good Women's Specific Fit
This is an extremely comfortable cycling short with a good women's fit. It has grip features around the thigh to prevent sliding, and has a high rise waist to prevent rolling at the stomach. Overall it feels like a product made with a real woman's body in mind, particularly for a plus size. My only downside is that the fabric is not very soft, so I did get a small amount of chafing while riding. This is an excellent pair of shorts for indoor training rides and shorter outdoor riding.
First Chammy That Doesn't Feel Like a Diaper
I'm not sure why these have such bad reviews. This is the first chammy that doesn't feel like a diaper on me. I liked it so much, I bought another pair! I think they run true to size, the control panel doesn't feel like it's cutting me in half at all (like another reviewer said), and the scalloped detail on the legs is adorable! I have the pink shimmer and I just ordered the new floral print.
All style, not so much substance.
TLDR; I like these well enough to keep them, but I wouldn't buy them again. They are beautiful! They are so so fun to look at, and I got compliments from all my friends. They fit... ok. The waistband has a fusible interfacing or something holding it together; it's not stitched, and the interfacing makes the shorts stiff at the waist and down a few inches. It seems like it's almost trying to be one of those "slimming panels" that you get in skinny jeans where it's extra tight across your tummy, except it's stiff, and it doesn't go low enough to function if that was the goal. It also doesn't breath well; the interfacing was noticeably sweatier than the non-interfaced parts. The chamois was weirdly stiff, too, thought it wasn't noticeable on the bike. The cute scallops on the legs? adorable, but the legs rode up really fast and the grippers did not do their job. They didn't ride up so far that it was a problem, but I had hoped the longer legs would, y'know, actually cover my legs. Also, the sparkly print is already rubbing off at the inner thighs. This isn't a surprise, this sort of print isn't all that long-lived, but it's worth noting in case you haven't had this sort of fabric before. Something I had not noticed was that they have side pockets, and I was on the fence about that once I tried the shorts on, but I actually really liked having my phone in a side pocket instead of having to dig around in my jersey pockets. Overall, they're fine. They're beautiful, and fun to look at, but they're not great at being cycling shorts. I will keep them, but I will reserve them for shorter rides where the weird chamois and bunchy legs won't make me suffer.
Worst bike shorts ever
I've never experienced more uncomfortable bike shorts than these. There is a hidden control panel at the waist. Which means if you're trying to bend over to get to your handlebars, the shorts are preventing you from bending at the waist. It felt like being cut in two. They were so uncomfortable, I had to roll the waist down half way through my ride. The scalloped legs are so cute but the waist is completely unfunctional.
