Good in small sizes
Seriously cool, but poor cleat placement. I am size 46 and have a mm of clearance if using these on my MTB (XT cranks), a couple more mm of on gravel bike (ultegra cranks). The cleats are set to be as wide possible, but ingress for the shoe is in the center of the sole, not offset. Needs a redesign for the sole. Probably good if you are size 43 or smaller. Buyer beware on larger sizes. Love them for the daycare pickup and drop off, photo of Shimano shoes to show how to set cleats properly.
Great shoes for a self-supported trip in the Alps
I bought these shoes for a 12-day trip in Europe where I biked across the Alps from Austria to Venice. They worked perfectly for that purpose. On the days where I didn't ride I unscrewed the cleats and it was just like wearing regular sneakers. I did have to put the cleats all the way toward the inside of the cleat recess to avoid hitting the cranks while riding, but that did not interfere with clipping in and out. Having these shoes saved me from having to carry a second pair of shoes on the trip, which was wonderful.
Clipless/SPD cutout is all wrong
Shoe quality and design and features great - tongue design, lace strap, reflectors. The cleat/SPD cutout on the sole is dangerous and irritating: 1. The cutout is too far towards the outside of the sole so the sole catches on the crank arm. Have to put the cleat plate hard to the inner side and even then it still clips the crank every time. 2. Due to 1 above, must put the cleat plate to the inward side. But the cutout narrows approaching the back. Tested the click in/out while fitting, screwed down hard hard hard. But when used for commute twisting heal outwatds one side didn't release due to that narrow down - feel off twice! Could twist heal inwards to release that, though this only works if crank is right up else blocked by crank To fix 1 will have to cut stop off inner sides of cutouts. To fix 2 moved cleat plate forward 2 mm, but will also cut the cutout wider at the back
Awesome classy shoes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fit, styling, very retro. Okay, the product fits very well except. Except the back let's the heal to slide out. That's why it gets a four. When clipped in the entire sole flexes. Not a bad thing it just does. Would never have even given these shoes a thought if not for Dustin Klein (Everythings been done) recommending the product. Thank him.. but I'll take a discount.
Try them, you'll keep them!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Girlfriend loves them! Wish y'all had a gift receipt option when checking out. I don't want to get a gift card. Had to show her the different options but they fit her little feet and ALL HER CYCLING GIRLS CLUB want a pair. She can feel the difference in riding from the normal tennis shoes she wears without feeling awkward in cycling shoes.
Great find!
I'm normal a women's size 7 through and through with every single brand of shoe I own. This is my first Adidas shoe and they felt too big, I sized down to 6.5 and they fit perfect. Other than that, great sturdy shoe
I'll never wear "regular" shoes again to ride.
I never thought a shoe could make a difference in my ride, but I was SO wrong! This shoe is comfortable, sturdy - yet flexible, and all but eliminated the ache in my forefoot on the days that I commute to work.
Does the job & looks great
I love the looks. Great to walk as the SPD is recessed. It felt a little tight around the forefoot which made it slightly uncomfortable after prolong led riding. I’m still breaking it in, so it might get better
Very stylish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You habe the retro look of the classic Samba shoe combined with clickies - so stylish to cycle in the city with those shoes! And surprisingly comfy as well, not too soft but also quiet stiff when clicked in.
Worth it, but consider replacing the insole.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy bike shoe to set up. Stylish. Stiff sole (a good thing for riding). I would include a flat insole as the (only) one it comes with has an arch support that is unnecessary and for me, a bit uncomfortable.
