Great Looking, but Lots to Improve on
Ended up quite disappointed with these. At first the footbed was surprisingly comfortable with a nice stiff to flex ratio and with lots of room in the toe box, but I found that for my foot shape there was too much material in the upper that the single boa just couldn't synch tight enough. Which leads to my main issue being the boa. Quoc uses a proprietary cable closure system that just doesn't compare at all to the boa brand closures. Quite quickly into using these the cables were showing signs of damage which when wound into the system seemed to causes jams. On wet rides the cables would get stuck inside and upon getting home one or the other shoe would have to be battled for a few minutes to get open and off. One slide out on a loose dirt road and the one boa stopped working all together. Come to find out their replacement parts were unavailable online. There was also an issue with the build of the footbed: where the cleats bolt in it is open through the shoe with a plastic square that is taped down under the padded insert to cover the inside of the cleat bolt area. The tape obviously came loose quite quick between the constant foot movement and some wet rides and soon the hard plastic was floating around under the insert. I often had to readjust it back into place but still found it giving the ball of my foot a hot spot of irritant on long rides since that's where all the driving force was being directed from pedaling. Overall they're great looking shoes with a very comfortably flexible/stiff sole and quality materials but without a quality closure system and that dang plastic that came loose I stopped using them after just a couple months. Will be returning.
Phenomenal Gravel Shoes
Absolutely the most comfortable cycling shoes I own. Quoc really hit it out of the park with these. I typically wear a wide in Lake shoes, and these fit perfectly. Closure system is great; just as good as a branded BOA system.
