I was so excited about these boots and really loved them. I wore them once into the office to test them out. They were incredibly comfy but the maroon part of the sole got torn apart just by my feet brushing together a few times. The rubber in that spot is almost foam like and too soft. I cannot imagine what rocks would do to them if they can't even survive my heels clicking together once or twice

Overall I ended up disappointed by these boots, due to quality and comfort issues. I purchased these to replace much loved Ahnus, to discover they rubbed my ankles all wrong. But alas, I told myself "just break them in, it will get better!" It never got better. Further, one of the metal shoestring clasps broke on my right boot, less than 30 miles of hiking.

Received the product used/ floor model. Despite that I got them on sale it's not advertised as used or refurbished so I truly can't rate higher. The glue is visible also so worried about how they will hold up after the winter.

This is my first pair on this brand of hiking boots, and has not disappointed, it is sturdy, but not giving me a tight grip and had been a great fit to my small feet (size 6 US). I was just trying a find a good sale and this one is a great find for the price.
