Lightest Allbirds Yet!

Usage: I’ve used the shoe for casual events and multiple times daily to walk our dogs Comfort: Compared to previous Allbirds I’ve used (wool mizzles, tree runners, etc.) this is by far the lightest pair. I think it would go great as a travel shoe due to how light it is. The replacement of an insole with a one-piece construction is a great addition. I’ve often found sand, dog hair, and other debris in the insert that makes it annoying to clean. And, as with all shoes, it’s hard to get the insert right sometimes as well so this makes it super convenient. With the light construction, the wool upper is not as comfy as other Allbirds I’ve had. It has more of a plastic-y feel and the tongue isn’t as soft as well. I really like Allbirds because I don’t have to tie the shoe before every use – I just slip them on. With the material that’s used in this shoe, it’s stiffer and so it doesn’t have the flexibility as other Allbirds to slip right in. The shoe is quite comfy and I would use it for short to medium lengths. I would stick to a running shoe or a shoe with more padding for longer distances. Look: I received a grey upper and a cream sole. I typically wouldn’t get such a light color because it shoes dirtiness much more easily. However, the overall colorway of the shoe looks great and is easy to match with multiple outfits. Other: this shoe also has a ?bumper? at the heel of the shoe. I’m not entirely sure of it’s purpose, but it seems like it’s meant to prevent your heel from going to far up or your foot from moving around too much. It’s comfortable, but different.

Save your money and skip these

I had high hopes for these shoes. Even the unboxing really give the impression of a premium experience and premium product. This said, I can not recommend these shoes. Things I liked: the wool material of the upper shoe feels and looks premium. Things I didn't like: 1.) The socks felt sloppy/poorly stitched 2.) the insole is not removable so you are unable to put your own insoles/arch supports in 3.) The laces are prone to untying 4. the sole of the shoe is very thin / not durable. Overall these shoes are perfectly fine lifestyle shoes at the right price point (definitely lower than what is being asked). They do not merit the premium price that puts them in the same price point as full-featured trail runners. More over, these shoes are NOT suitable for running at all between the terrible tread/sole and lack of support for insoles.

Lowkey Great

I really like the look of the shoes. They look very simple and lowkey, but also really nice at the same time. Maybe I would describe the look as casual elegance. The soles and cushion feel very comfortable on my feet when I'm running or during my day to day life. The top wool part of the shoe is where it shines for my because it hugs the top of my feet making the feel cozy and secure without feeling restrictive, which is typically a problem for me with other running shoes. I typically run on gravel roads and dirt trails where I live and feel like they give me good traction when the ground underfoot is less than ideal. The laces are nice and simple and stay secure, which is a big plus. They breathe really well and don't make my feet feel hot when in the summer heat. Overall, some unexpected and great running shoes that I'm going to keep in my regular rotation.

Lightweight Everyday Casual Shoe

This is the first pair of Allbirds I have tried and they have converted me. They are by far the lightest shoes I have ever worn, it doesn't feel like I'm carrying around any weight on my feet at all. The sole feels like an airy foam and the insole is sewn in and connected to the bottom of the shoe. The top is a lightweight wool (that is also sustainable wool) and is both form-fitting, comfortable, and stylish. The shoes themselves have a bootstrap that feels a bit thin for help with slipping the shoe on. The only downside in my experience is that the tongue of the shoe is a bit flimsy so to properly put it on it's not as simple as slipping the shoe on. However once it's on it's very comfortable and you forget that it's there. All in all this is a shoe that I have used for casual occasions like walking the dog, light jogs, and multiple casual activities like errands or gatherings. Friends have commented on the shoes almost every time I've worn them. I have not yet needed to wash the shoe but am looking forward to it as that is one of the upsides of Allbirds.

Feather light and comfortable

These shoes out of the box are super comfortable. The wool material is lightweight, surprisingly cool, and durable. The insole and sole provide cushion for casual walking, but felt they lacked for runs over mixed terrain. The other feature I really appreciate in the design is the padding in the heel. Typically this is the area that blisters form for me with new shoes and for several days of daily wear I had none, not even a hot spot. Lastly, the focus on sustainability is another benefit to chose this shoe over comparable competitors. I do find the shoe difficult to put on, mainly due to the lack of rigidity in the back of the shoe.

Comfortable, ultra light, bit slippery

I'm writing this with the intent on helping you decide whether these Allbirds are a good (or not so good) fit for you. First off, these shoes are amazingly light and thin on the uppers. Since it's a single layer of wool, it flexes and stretches. The tongue is elastically attached to the bottom insoles (see picture) so they don't run off to the sides. The outsoles have a wide footprint, which gives more stability. It's fairly soft, which gives some extra cushion. The tread is flat so I wouldn't take these out on the trails. I'm perfectly fine relegating these to pavement, though they were a bit slippery at the grocery store. I wore these on a daily basis for work in office conditions in addition to a couple of short runs due to the heatwave going on. At least they are very breathable. I find them to be comfortable but the arch is a little more raised than I'd prefer while running. For daily walking, it isn't a bother. My only concern is durability and longevity since the material is so thin! For what it's worth, it came with a pair of socks, which is a nice touch.

Comfortable, stylish, and eco friendly

This is my third pair of allbirds, and by far the best. The uppers have gotten thinner and less fuzzy, and there is more traction on the sole. I put these to the test on a recent airport travel disaster, and they stayed comfortable after 12 hours on my feet. I wish there was a little more rubber on the sole, but otherwise no complaints. Comfortable, stylish, and friendly to the places we love. What’s not to like?

Incredibly lightweight

Love these shoes! They are so lightweight and incredibly comfortable. I wear them almost everyday after work for our afternoon walk around the neighborhood. Also the socks that it came with are amazing and are just the cherry on top for me.

Comfortable casual shoe

Runs a bit wide, but comfortable walking shoe. Nice cream color that goes well with most outfits. The cloth material is a bit of a worry for staying clean, but I strayed it with a good amount of Nikwax and they have held up well.

Best Travel Shoe

Currently using these shoes on my 3 month backpacking trip through Europe. I walk on average 13000 steps/day and have used these on hot days and on hikes with no problem. They are nice to have when you are needing something light. These wear great over time and I was surprised the bottom of the shoe actually creates a grip texture! At first I thought they would be slick as they look like that have zero tread, but now that I’ve had them for about 2 months the shoes are perfect. I did however try and go on a jog with my wife, we did about 5 miles and I would not recommend these as running shoes…. But walking/hiking/casual going out shoes YES! 👍🏼
