Works great, when it works

I've been using (or at least trying to use) this set of lights for about 8 months now. The rear light is great, no notes. The front light is nice and bright, and it's pretty nifty how it syncs with the rear light and gives you a battery readout for both. I also like how it only has 3 modes (bright, brighter, and flashing) and you can disable the flashing mode if you want. However, after a few months one of the many battery-readout LEDs on the front light stopped working. A couple months after that I lost another one. I've been pretty gentle with these lights, never let them get wet and only use them for road and light gravel riding. The missing LEDs weren't a huge deal for me, the main reason I'm giving this product one star is that the front light will brick itself while charging. Twice now I have taken the light off the charger to find that the charge indication LEDs are stuck on and no amount of button-mashing (even the reset process described in the manual) will get the light to actually turn on. I googled this issue and it doesn't seem uncommon; the only suggestion was to let the battery die fully then recharge it. Given that the battery is massive, it takes about a month for the little LEDs to drain it, so you'll be without a front light for that long.
