Disappointing new version.
I bought the same brand and model helmet two years ago, and it was fantastic! I was excited to upgrade to a new color and pass my old helmet on to a friend who needed an upgrade. However, the new version is disappointing in comparison. First, the ventilation holes no longer work well with the lid-lock on my Osprey pack, which is frustrating. They also removed the magnetic clip, which I loved for its ease of use. The visor is flimsier, and I can no longer securely attach my Take-A-Look mirror like I used to. Overall, it feels like the new design has sacrificed some of the features that made the original so great. I'm really just a bit disappointed.
Good but SMALL!
I have a smallish head, 22", in the range of this helmet's S/M size but it was way too small. Sat high up on my head. Ended up giving it to my seven year old daughter. Box is labeled Adult/Youth. Both?
Bike helmet
I have a big head so I first ordered a large which was too big, exchanged for a medium and it fits perfect.
Safe stylish helmet
My wife bikes often. I had not owned a bike in years and got one last summer. The thought of a helmet never crossed my mind when i got the bike. As we embarked for our first ride together my wife asked if i had a helmet. I sheepishly answered no. She told me it was okay. I knew my wife has a helmet (that was actually a free handout from a ride she attended). but i also knew she skeptical of their effectiveness. She had previously told me she rarely wears it unless she perceives that there is danger. She suggested because it had been awhile that i wear her helmet. It didn’t sound like a horrible idea so i took her up. Afterwards she asked what I thought of the helmet and frankly it seemed fine. On our next few rides i wore the helmet and truly became accustomed to it. On our next ride she handed me a red solstice and said she got it for me and that way she could wear hers. as i put it on i was really impressed at the fit and comfort level. This is a great helmet and i really recommend you get and wear it
Comfortable helmet with new safe technology
Great helmet. New mips technology makes it feel much safer. Very comfortable as well. Red color is punchy.
A nice helmet
It fits really well, is nicely done, and looks good. It feels well-ventilated. I rode on a hot, sunny day and barely felt it on my head.
A top bike helmet
Great fit, and it’s comfortable. Plus, I welcome the extra protection of the internal webbing.
Not bad for a helmet
My wife has an old red headwinds helmet that she will wear almost every ride. It fit her terribly, always tipped back with straps so loose you can put it on and take it off without undoing the buckle. Her parents always make mention how terrible the fit is and sometimes she will fix it. I have a skid lid (4 prong from the 80’s) that offers no protection that i will wear if my wife requests me wear a helmet). A few weeks ago i was going for a ride and my wife asked if i would wear her helmet so i would be safe. For some reason i said yes. As I attempted to put it on I realized the straps were not in the buckle right and fixed them so the straps would stay tight. I also noticed it was a bit big on my head. I got a somewhat descent fit and headed out. I forget i had the helmet on and was enjoying my ride. I came upon a low tree and ducked, but not low enough fortunately the helmet took the worst of it. When i got home and took the helmet off I realized it was cracked pretty bad. My wife was glad i had it on but unhappy her favorite helmet was done. She said she liked her Red helmet and could not find a similar one in red. I looked for awhile and and found the solstice in gloss red and got it for her. She loves it and now wants me to get a helmet as well.
Straps too short.
I had a crash and my Bontrager Solistice MIPS helmet that I bought a year or two ago. It prevented the worst. I wanted to replace it and tried the Trek Solistice helmet. It is not the same. The straps are thinner at much shorter and it does not fit around my chin without almost strangling me. So disappointed.
Sweat dribbles down the straps-not into your eyes
The placement of the straps allows the sweat to dribble down the straps and not into your eyes. This is currently the only helmet we have found that does that. Every other helmet we have requires you to use a towel, or a sleeve, or something to wipe the sweat out so that it does not reach your eyes.
