Great product, provided you install it correctly

As a previous reviewer mentioned, the small part that allows this bottle cage to flip from right hand entry to left hand entry isn't permanently attached. However, that is an absolute non-issue when you screw the cage on to your bike through that part, as it is designed to be installed. I have found that this cage holds my bottles. Perhaps slightly more firmly than I would prefer an ideal world, but I'm not going to complain about good bottle retention on my gravel bike! Overall, this is an excellent product, especially for the price and a clever bit of innovation to allow for more versatility in mounting and experimentation by users to find the cage setup that works best for them.

Plastic piece falls off.

There is no way to secure the plastic piece that acts as the stop for the bottle. Gravity & bumps have their way and this piece falls off. On-line product support and the local REI bike shop have no answer. Design defect. Return.

Great grip

This cage is sturdy and very easy to use. The grip is good enough to hold a full 21oz metal water bottle with no issues, and the plastic is only minimally scratching (granted it isn't covered in trail dust). Two of these plus another standard-entry bottle cage on the downtube lets me carry about a gallon of water on my 44cm frame with enough space for a half-frame bag. I docked one star because the tab that holds the base of the bottle is a separate piece (which allows for you to switch it between left and right entry) that is easy to lose if you take the cage off your bike. There aren't any replacements for just the tab, so keep a good eye on it

Great side entry bottle cage

Just installed my new side entry bottle cage. I was struggling with getting my water bottle in and out of my standard cage. I thought I would try this one. Works great, sturdy construction and much easier to use. I’m getting one for all my bikes.

smartly reversable and solid

No issues on rough descents, held my bottle well and allowed for easy access despite my half frame bag being a tight fit.

not secure

I needed a holder I can access from the side since there’s limited space. Unfortunately when the trail gets a little bit bumpy, it does not hold the bottle securely, especially when the bottle is full it falls out
