i recently crashed really really hard on a gravel trail because i was being unnecessarily reckless. the first thing to hit the rocky ground was my head. i'm pretty sure this helmet saved my life and prevented me from getting a concussion. my only real ailments from the crash are mild whiplash. i believe i owe my life to this helmet haha

Sadly, sunburn protection now gone

Sadly, Smith has dropped the choroid coverage with the top vents, including it only on the side vents. May not matter a lot for people with loads of hair, but for those of us with thinning hair or no hair, it ruins the previously great sunburn protection. I will be keeping my old Smith helmet.

you never expect it, but you wear it in case it do

Crashed into a semi truck illegally parked in the bike lane. Yeah, should have seen it from a mile away, I was three and a half hours into my ride and everything hurt, shut up. Thanks to this helmet, I avoided brain damage and was able to bike home, then go to the hospital, then ask the restaurant it happened in front of if they have security camera footage of the incident so the trucking company might end up paying my medical expenses. This has suddenly become the best $130 I ever spent.

Good fit!

It fit like a glove. I have a melon head and it’s hard for me to find helmets that have a fit. I recommend this to all fat heads like myself.

Good helmet / fragile components

The helmet itself is great! Light, comfortable, feels safe and solid; I definitely love mine and would recommend it. My only issue with it is how fragile some of the components are. The liners fall apart as soon as you try to wash them, however gentle you are, and one of the straps dividers fell off. Smith sadly doesn’t offer spare dividers, so they hooked me up with a new helmet, which is totally amazing, but also I insanely wasteful as they require you to destroy your old helmet in order to send you a new one, when all it needs is a tiny plastic strap divider. Great customer service, terribly wasteful way of managing repairs.

Fits small head, but straps always need adjustment

I bought this because it is actually small enough for my head. The adjustable fit on the head is good. However, the straps do not thread through the plastic framework from the back, as a Giro helmet would, so the move around and lie awkwardly below the ears. Where the strap threads through the chin clip, the strap loosens very easily, so I have to tighten the chin strap with every use. For $130, these both seem like fixable design flaws. That said, I appreciate having a helmet that fits my noggin.

I needed a new helmet

I needed a new helmet to go with my new gravel bike and this one fit the ticket. I am not huge on pink usually, but I loved the look of this and I like that it makes me more visible to others. The fit is perfect, it's very comfortable, and I don't even notice I'm wearing it. I know there are way more expensive/fancy helmets out there, but this one is a great value and is perfect for what I need.

Practical yet stylish

Wanted a helmet that did not look large on me and something practical, this helmet was it. Not only does it keep me cool with all the vents it is so comfy and fits so well. It’s so light you forget it’s even in you! Easy to tilt your head and have good vision I really like the comfort. It’s an awesome helmet and I will be a returning customer for more

Good helmet!

Until this point I have been a Giro helmet only cyclist, as I liked the way they fit on my head. I switched because of availability, and so far have been very happy with this helmet! I was worried when I initially aw it that it would look dorky and bulky and more suited to commuting, but it ended up being a good look with road, gravel, and MTB clothes. Ventilation seems fine, though I usually wear a cap when I ride. The only down-side, straps don't lay flat on their own, with a plastic fixture like what Specialized uses, but they are very adjustable and quickly 'molded' to how I set them up. In 20+ hours of riding, I literally never think about how it fits or feels on my head. Medium fits very similarly to a Giro Medium.
