Buy any other brand but vans

Purchased a pair of Vans auras last season in October 2021 and I’ve only wore them about 50 days total. Next to my vans are burtons that has made it 3 season still in great condition and a pair of nidecker boots that have made it for 4 seasons now with some wear and tear but not to the extent of my vans auras. I would expect the wear and tear to give out after 200-250 rides but not within the few days I've been in the boot. The Nideckers have been worn about 200 days and still holding up and the burtons about 120 days and still in better condition than the left boot of the vans. Sent this all to customer service at vans and they did not do the right thing on either refunding me or sending me a new product, I believe I was sold a clear defective product. I made the terrible mistake of believing I was buying a quality product with trusted brand with great customer service but couldn’t have been more wrong about the product and the company. So no one else makes my mistake I’d like to put a review up of the vans auras to let other customers know they are paying for an over priced product and a poor quality brand that won’t do the right thing for their customers. I will make sure to direct you all to Burton, K2, DC, or Nidecker for snowboarding boots because there’s no way a snowboard boot should only last for about 50 rides and have a higher price point while other brands have proven to have greater material, durability, and reliability at a lower price point.

Fell apart after less than a year (15-20 uses)

I advise against purchasing the Aura Pros. These boots lasted me 15-20 days on the mountain before the Boa system completely exploded on my right boot. As you'll see in other reviews, this seems to be a common theme for these boots.

Neat, but...

On the plus side they are light, feature a durable rubber sole, run true to size, good value for the features and the smartwool liner is nice. Unfortunately, I ended up returning them. Product specs say medium flex, I'd call it on the softer side. The main two things I didn't like were feeling a pinch or pressure point in the boa lace system in two places. You can feel the plastic tubes the cables run through when you flex the boot forward or walk in them. The other problem is in the footbed under the ball of my feet. The heel has loads of cushion, under the ball of the foot the foam is thin. I suppose if you want to feel the board with your toes and ball of foot they would be great. Felt cheap and uncomfortable to me under the ball of my feet.

vans quality is worse than zero

I love the way these boots feel and respond on the mountain…however….they have the worst quality and customer service there is. My REI warranty had just run out so I contacted Vans because less than 30 days on mountain the stitching on the boot was falling apart from NORMAL use on the PRO model. They gave me the run around, stop responding and just did not care. Given other complaints on here, I feel we should band together and file class action. Trash humans run Vans.

Painful yet responsive lol

I’m giving them a 3 for the the heel cup that it has that thing keeps your heels locked in and feel so responsive, but I kept getting a sharp pain on the front part of my ankle where it meets the foot. The pain would get so unbearable I would immediately have to loosen the boas. Most painful yet responsive boot I’ve ever wore. If you’re willing to choose the drip over comfort these are your boots lol

Good boots with BOA for a decent cost.

4/5 stars. I like these boots. However, they do seem to be made slightly lower quality than other boots costing just a little bit more, hence the 4 stars only. That said, for the full retail price, I am ok with them. I have used these boots for about 8 days riding so far this season. No issue other than the boots breaking in. I have been complemented on the color and style. The double boa works well. The boots fit well in my size medium Burton Cartel X bindings. I consider the flex a little softer than medium. It is more like a soft-medium, 4/10, IMO after breaking in. They are comfy though. I have narrow, low volume, feet and find really no boots will fit me snug once they break in. That was the case with these Vans. I had to put foam padding outside the liner, to take in some extra space. I have no issue doing that with my boots. Modifying the boot fit was a little harder with these boots compared to others. That is because the liner's toe box is very flimsy (it is neoprene) and makes inserting the liners back in the shell a challenge. This is something to note if you remove your boot liners.

Great boot post-break-in

Takes some breaking in, but wearing the boot for a couple days for an hour or two a day does the trick. Really comfortable and great both in the bindings and walking around the resort.
