The queen of jackets

If I had to choose just one jacket to rule them all, this would be the one. Tough, stylish, and adaptable yet simple--all the attributes needed to be able to make just one piece work hard all day. I ordered one size up from my usual to allow for layering and even without layers it fits well without being bulky or overbearing. I've put this jacket through days that start with a grueling desert hike, transition to management meetings, then to an afternoon paddling/fishing session, and on to dinner after and it performs beautifully throughout. I appreciate the generous size of the chest pocket, tall collar for keeping the wind at bay, and that it's no big deal to push my sleeves up and have them stay there when I hear "fish on!".

Outdoor Mama's Dream Coat

Okay, so I have a toddler and I'm not as 'hardcore' outdoorsy as I used to be. I bought this jacket as a few of my previous outdoor items don't quite fit the same following pregnancy and I LOVE it. Great for chasing toddlers around a national park, both in the bush and in the touristy townsite. It's water resistant coating is great for repelling spatters of icecream cones, spilled apple juice and an onslaught of kiddo boogers. The fit is spacious and the pockets are large enough to tote lost plastic dinosaurs, tomes of Kleenex and the rogue 'special' rock or pine cone. I love the added fleece-like lining because I always remember to pack 10 layers, toques, mitts, warm socks, etc. for the little guy but never remember to dress warm myself. Yes, outdoorsy clothes are still for you mama, and they serve their purpose albeit slightly different from the past :)

Fits on the small side

My new Ferrosi Grid Jacket arrived yesterday. I already love so much about this jacket; the style, feel of the fabric, freedom of arm movement, colour, (blackberry), ample pockets, good sleeve length, good neck to below the belt length. But there is a 'but.' I wear a medium in all OR jackets and vests and this medium is snug. I am disappointed that I will have to return it because it really is a lovely, versatile jacket.

Great jacket, sizing not perfect

Love the jacket in general, but the sleeves are so long that I find myself never grabbing it to wear. I will probably take it to a local tailor sometime soon. I'm an XS, and have other midlayers from OR that fit perfectly in the sleeve; this one several inches too long. Other than that, the coat is wonderful. It's a perfect outer shell when it's not too cold, it moves with you, and it's comfortable!

warm, windproof, sheds water for now. Sleeves are long enough even for my gorilla arms. thumbs up for that. Not light enough for backpacking but great for all my day adventures skiing, biking, hiking, rowing.

Jacket Really? More like Parka!

Very unattractive jacket. Resembles and fits like a men's jacket. Very big and long. Should be called a Parka not a jacket! The back of the jacket almost came to the back of my knees and I am 5'4 1/2"

Great soft shell jacket!

Great wind and light rain protection jacket. Warm enough for 25 and above weather with light sweater. Good pockets. I've been looking for something this versatile for awhile.

This jacket has a great fit to allow a bit of layering, but does not feel bulky. Great sleeve and body length too - great design!

Stretch of the fabric makes the fit immensely comfortable. Durable and water repellent. And the color combo is fresh
