Very nice jacket!
Seems to be high quality jacket, replacing previous Marmot jacket that is worn out. The Solaris is definitely a size smaller than previous Marmot jacket.
Awesome do it all jacket
I bought this jacket over a year ago and it has seen a lot of use and abuse. This jacket is quite water proof and light weight, however, my main complaint is that when it is very wet out the cuffs soak through and which can make your hands/wrists damp and cold. My only other complaint would be that the insulation packs down after a while and is not as quite as warm as it used to be (a problem with any jacket of this style). But still, I wear this jacket almost every day when its chilly or wet, whether, I am exploring the mountains or the city.
Perfect for PNW Winters
This jacket seems to be perfectly made for the coldest winter months here in Seattle—where a strict rain shell isn't warm enough, but an insulated jacket isn't waterproof enough. I love the fit, too, as it's cut a little longer, which really helps given winter weather conditions, and the tall chest pockets are a great design feature. They quickly and easily go from just hand pockets, to venting out excess heat if need be. The Gore-Tex is obviously top-notch as well, and I love seeing water bead up on the surface.

Bought as birthday gift for daughter's fiancé. He was wearing it and it's even better than it looks in the pic. Would buy again.
