My Wahoo Kickr experience
Bruce
Like Gus, My Kickr completely failed after more than a year and was out of warranty. I contacted Wahoo and explained what I did to troubleshoot the problem and asked how to obtain repair of my unit. Without me asking, Wahoo said that if I shipped my trainer to them they would replace it with a new or completely refurbished unit. Wahoo paid for my return shipping and shipping for the new unit sent to me. I was disappointed at the early failure, but very pleased with the response and service I got - hence the 4 stars.

Product failed after two years

Have had my KICKR for just over two years. A week ago it stopped transmitting power and cadence data. I've tried all of Wahoo's troubleshooting recommendations, and the trainer still is not transmitting power or cadence data. Waiting for Wahoo to contact me about repair/replacement, but am doubtful given there is only a 1 year warranty. Very disappointing, think most people would have expected a longer lifespan from a product of this price.

Great until it fails.

My Kickr worked fine until it didn't. After a few years of good performance it suddenly stopped transmitting power and cadence. Initial warranty period is over and Wahoo has no interest in repairing it or standing behind it. Apparently some folks have been able to get a post-warranty refurb replacement but they only offered me a token 20% off coupon on a new one, not much different from the price I could get buying new from REI with member dividend and mastercard. I'm not going to drop $800 on something that might only last a couple of years so now it's a 50lb boat anchor headed for the landfill even though the problem is probably just circuitry or a sensor.

Get a Kick out of this Trainer

Excellent trainer - feels like I'm riding on the road but a lot safer. Using the available apps makes it very enjoyable and the time goes by fast. The Wahoo Kickr V6 is easy to set up and the legs fold up nicely for storage when not in use. The Wi-Fi works great and so does the Bluetooth connection. I had no problems setting it up. Instructions provided were very easy to follow.

I enjoy riding indoors now.

I abhor indoor cycling at home. I am a former Spinning instructor, former pro racer who now just wants to ride for fun. I live in a snow-clad landscape during the winter, and work at a ski resort, so winter riding has been difficult. I decided to give the Wahoo Kickr a try. This is the best indoor trainer I have ever used. It has an amazing feel, moves just enough to feel like you're riding an actual bike and that movement also helps save your boot. Paired with Zwift, this trainer is addicting. It's easy to set up and solid. I love that the trainer can dictate the difficulty, simulating hills and descents as well as in erg mode keeping you in the exact power zone for your workouts. I highly recommend this trainer, especially paired with Zwift. It also works with other online gaming as well as TrainingPeaks and other training programs. I use Zwft on my phone and mirror it to my TV. Perfect set up!

Huge upgrade from mechanical trainer

Easy to set up. Had to change to 10 spd cassette - takes 5 mins if you have right tools. Easy to connect to various apps. I have used with Zwift and Fulgaz so far. I do not see a need to train outdoors anymore. There is a small scratching noise from the plastic cover touching the drive ( not flywheel) and was easily remedied. Heavy but can be carried with you so you can train anywhere, anytime. Sturdy, stable and very quite.

Great Home Trainer

I absolutely love my wahoo fitness kicker smart trainer, I use it almost every day in the winter when condition outside were less than ideal. Then when I took my bike outside I could see the improvement almost instantly. This trainer is a great option and is easy to attach/detach your bike in minutes.

Great upgrade from the Kickr Core

The Kickr v6 is a solid trainer for those looking for consistent power accuracy. Dual power recordings is always within 1% accuracy with my other power meter. Important for competitive eRacing. The race mode feature is a nice addition for those needing that immediate responsiveness in Zwift. The trainer itself is stable and comfortable.

Great until it failed

Would not recommend. My unit, purchased October 2021, failed after three years of use. The power and cadence data is no longer transmitting. I've contacted Wahoo Not expecting anything, my unit is out of warranty. I have heard some people with the same issue are receiving replacements after the warranty period. Figured it would be worth a shot.

Complete Fail

How can a product that costs this much fail after a couple years! The power and cadence stop broadcasting and I have only logged about 2,300 miles on it over that time. I have reached out to support, but have yet to hear anything back yet. I am beyond heart broken.
