These are the most comfortable trekking shoes I've ever worn. The arch perfectly fits my foot as does the rest of the shoe. They are truly waterproof and the sole is very grippy, unlike shoes with plastic/synthetic soles, these are real rubber. I usually wear a size 8 and purchased an 8. Previously, I've sized up to 8.5 in other shoes in order to accommodate "wear expansion/swelling" but they were just too big. I highly recommend Merrell...they are the best!!
