Gives lots of shade
I have big curly hair and I am finally able to wear a hat with my hair down. I like that it doesnt push my hair down to where I have a hat head when I take the hat off. It also doesnt put pressure on my head and I am able to wear it all day. I use the string to keep it from blowing off my head in the wind. Its my favorite hat and take it everywhere.
Incompetent packaging and size runs large
The hat was crammed in a box resulting in the plant fibers breaking. Also the inner hat band runs larger than others I have worn.

Love the hat but it came bent in the box so now the shape isn’t as it is meant to be and some of it was already broken.
Arrived broken and looks brittle
The top of the hat was already cracking when it arrived and I can tell it is brittle and will only contain to crack. Returning and going for one of this company’s basic styles.

Just opened the box and the brim is bent so far that it's already breaking, and it's too big for my head. Will return.
Gives good shade but...
Gives good shade but is also already coming apart along the edge of the brim. The straw is not wrapped around the edge of the brim in several places, so it does not lay flat. Too much trouble to return.

This hat has a broad brim for protection from Sun. It is comfortable and high quality.
Well made and effective
Very well made with excellent materials for this type of hat. The wide brim makes it effective in blocking direct sunlight from my face and neck and the beaded cord lock does a surprisingly good job of holding its place - this is important because the wide brim makes the hat susceptible to wind.
