I have been riding this bike for a little over a year. I’ve put 1000 or so miles on it, so I can safely say I love it! It’s not the lightest bike, but it crushes climbs, and is super fun on the downhill. I primarily ride Park City and love to ride tech trails, and it handles really well. I don’t do a lot of jumps and features, but I’ve been dabbling with this bike, and it does really well. I have also done some southern Utah desert riding, and it handles slick rock like a champ. I wasn’t sure when I first got this bike, because I don’t know anyone who rides a cannondale, but I’m sure glad I gave it a chance. I love my lemon companion.
Went to store to purchase two Cannondale bikes. Worked with Andrew the manager in the Bike department. My husband opened the REI mass card and got approved. Went to make the purchase and the sales associate messed up the credit card purchase requiring us to call the REI credit card company. Even though false, the REI credit card company stated they never heard of the credit used to purchase immediately in store on the new credit card. Ended the phone call with them and contacted Capital One who holds the card for REI. Even though they spoke with the store manager and us and could see the credit card information the one REI MasterCard guy refused to give us the information to make the purchase. My husband‘s husband, a member of REI since 2018 so I never had a reason to purchase a membership solely for myself. In order to get the special discounts and perks that went along with opening the credit card, we then decided that I would open a credit card to my husband’s account was inaccessible to us at the time in store. finish scaring the items that we were going to purchase after I got approved and the store associate that the manager had help us with the credit card that had more experience in him completely mess up credit card one time purchase coupon thus putting us in the same situation they were in as my husbands credit card. After four hours of being in that store for what should’ve been a 30 minute purchase and a fun experience we were now miserable wanting to just take our bikes and go home to try and salvage the night by trying them out. The only thing that made this purchase a pleasant experience and turned it around for this store and shed a positive light on the whole thing what is the store manager Andrew. Andrew‘s assistance in the entire matter is the only reason this is a five star review instead of a one star review and a letter of complaint to corporate. For anybody out there going to visit new Glendale location buying a bite or anything to do with biking take a moment to request Andrew as far as our expectations and take the situation. It would make delight at heart and cry. I hope that the corporate office or the powers that be see this and know that they have a great manager in the building department and acknowledge his hard work and effort to take care of two customers and make it right versus allowing them to walk out the door miserable never return and talk poorly about the company. I hope that corporate acknowledges Andrew and as far as buying him a nice lunch or dinner on top of whatever reward system they use employee specifically means in a positive review especially one out as a complete negative dropping experience.
