Best Versatile backpack
If you’re looking for the most versatile backpack for any kind of travel this is your pack. The fairview series 40L as a carry on or the 70L with the 15L day pack gives you any combination needed for travel. Over or under packers. I have over 3 compression cubes of clothes, 1 large toiletry bag with yes hair and make up not minimal i mean full face (foundation, contours, blush) it fits it all. Pack smart and this bag will make 50lbs feel like 10. Only con is it will always more than likely need to be check for air flights and the little backpack would be charged extra even if attached. The 40L or 55L is best if packed smart for carry on.
SO CLOSE, SO FRUSTRATING, still a good strong bag
I would prefer to give this 3.5 stars, but I can't. I have been traveling for over 4 months non-stop now and this is my main bag. I've been thinking about this review for a while and wanted to make sure I had actually used the bag before writing what I thought about it. I chose Osprey because of the lockable, metal zippers & Osprey's product quality. Plastic zippers can break and I don't want to have to deal with that. I also wanted to be able to connect the backpack to the front of me when walking around - and this is absolutely genius as it leaves my hands free. The main bag is massive and works wonderfully. I can stuff it pretty well and I'm kinda shocked the zipper hasn't busted. Additionally the chest and hip straps help a lot with alleviating the weight of the bag. My biggest gripe is Osprey's day pack. It, for lack of a better term, sucks. To the point where I'm wondering if I purchase a different book bag, can I get a tailor to add the attachment straps to that. Why Osprey has the main compartment shaped like an hour glass is beyond me, but the absolute frustration I have at packing a bigger space, then smaller space, then bigger space is not to be taken lightly. Additionally, if you pack the bag full, you will struggle to use the water bottle holder. The stuff you pack must be pliant enough to (for me) literally smash with your first to the side so you can add your water bottle. I have a 650 ml lifestraw bottle, it is a "normal" size. The mesh betting ripped within the second week of my trip. The top reach in compartment is decent, but if the bag is full, it's a lot of fun to get stuff in and out of (sarcasm with the word fun). About the only think I like about this bag is that it has the lockable metal zippers and can be attached to the front of the larger bag. You can attach the small bag to the back of the big bag and it's fairly easy to do, but I've never quite gotten the weight distribution correct for it to feel comfortable. I'd much rather carry the small pack on front. I just wish Osprey would listen to its customers. They are SO CLOSE to having the perfect set up. But their error with their day packs continues to be their detriment. For the record, I also own the Porter 46L and the Daylight pack but they didn't work as a combo and the daylight pack was too small.
XS great size for travelling
Pro: Women XS is a great size for me as a carry-on. The frame is 21.5"" high for XS. It's well-designed for traveling, allowing you to hide the straps for check-in. I've had no problems using it as a carry-on for 5 flights so far. Con: I'm right on the margin between XS and one size up. However, with the XS, I cannot fully tighten the sternum strap, causing it to tilt backward slightly at the top.
Best bag yet!!
This bag is the perfect size for any type of hiking plans you have. Other backpack straps have been terrible on my shoulders after a few miles, but these are so comfortable.
Poor quality connectors
This expensive pack could have been perfect for my 26-day travel with a friend in Europe. HOWEVER, before I departed from the airport out of Bozeman, Montana, the top corner clip broke at its attachment base. Therefore, I carried two pieces of luggage by force. After I arrived in Milan, italy, and traveled to Genoa, my friend met me and he used an 8"" NiteIze twist to hold the two packs together. That rendered them non-functional as two separable packs. That break burdened me with one large 40# pack for my travel duration. had you engineered the connectors with quality and strength in mind from the get-go, my recommendations for this pack would have been relentless. What a disappointment! My 6'4"" friend loved and recommended Osprey until this bad experience.

Love this backpack
I took this backpack on a 2 week trip to Central Asia. I was able to bring it on the plane as a carry on, even though it is pretty large. The smaller backpack is great for walking around the city and hiking for shorter day trips. Great quality bag. Although a seam on the small backpack strap opened a bit on the hem, which can be fixed, it doesn't take away from the integrity of the product. My husband and teenager have also taken this bag hiking and traveling and is still in great shape. I highly recommend.
Beautiful Pack
This is a beautiful pack, actually 2 packs in one BUT I returned it as it was just too big for what I was looking for.
Everything I want in a travel pack!
This pack is beyond what I expected. This pack is my number one favorite traveling pack, the daypack is a great addition, I love that it's removable and accommodates the little things I like to carry while traveling. I will recommend this pack to my friends and family.
Great bag. Only wish the
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bag. Only wish the day pack was SLIGHTLY bigger. A little small to fit everything needed for a plane personal but you can make it work. Black with blue highlights is very nice looking.
Excellent bag
I'm currently using this for a train trip around France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria and it's brilliant. It's very spacious, comfortable to carry and easy to adjust for comfort.
