Merrel product is the best!!
There the best!! By far the most comfortable foot wear I’ve ever owned!!!
Thank you for the amazing feedback!
What is happening to the quality?
I've been wearing Merrell's for many years and my last two pair have been the biggest disappointments. My Choprocks soles are coming loose in a number of places and I've only had them a few months. Most of the wear is just to work, so I can only imagine if I'd been hitting the trails hard. I was super excited with their fit and comfort when I recieved them, but my enthusiasm is fading fast. Merrell's are generally rated as a good lower cost shoe, but I'd rather pay more for a shoe that would hold together. What happened to stitching soles of shoes on? I guess I'm old school but I count on my shoes lasting more than a year or two.
Almost fantastic
These Merrell’s have a lot of great qualities. The footbed is extremely comfortable and that’s what I like the most. Love the granite color that I got and the others available looked nice too. The vibram sole is a major plus and should be on every merrell shoe. It was a big selling point for me. The only downside is that the straps loosened up after a couple days wear. I knew they would like all flip flops but they were perfect for me right out of the box. I don’t think it’s a defect or a problem, just my preference that they be tighter. I think had I been in the design room I’d have made them a 1/16 wider all the way around too. Still very pleased.
Great water shoes
I wanted a water shoe that was more like a shoe than a sandal, and these have been perfect. Have worn them in sand (beach), water, sidewalks, driveways, and in commercial spaces. They are very comfortable, on both sand and hard surfaces, and dry rapidly. I haven't tried them on rocks yet, but they feel as though they'll be perfect for that, too (supportive and grippy soles). They are strangely long for their respective sizes, but I found that having extra room in the toes helped to keep the sand, that inevitably collects there when walking on the beach, from jamming against my toes, and they are still comfortable for walking.
Great sandals but order them two sizes up
These are really great sandals, well built and give so much more support than any flip flop I’ve ever owned. Others complained about the fabric between the toes, I was nervous about it but after wearing the first day I felt like it broke in and was good. If anything I appreciate that it’s a strong sturdy material that will last. Giving four stars only because the sizing is off and I had to exchange mine. If you’re looking to buy a pair DO NOT order your normal size. I have several pair of merrells and normally wear 11.5. I ordered these in a 12 and they were too small. Exchanged for a 13 and they just big enough.
Thank you for your helpful feedback, Aaron!
Like wearing a pair of vice grips
I got these to replace my 5 year old Merrell All Out Blaze Sieve sandals. In all, it's my 5th pair of Merrell's. With every pair before, it was like putting on a wonderfully broken in shoe that fit perfectly every time. With these, my god, it was absolutely crushing my foot . Same size as I always get, the length is perfect but so, so very tight. I don't have even remotely large feet either. Decided to take them for a walk around the block anyway to see how stretchy they were, but came back with numb toes and the back of my heel torn up. Returned immediately. Disappointing, as I love all my other Merrell shoes.
Stitching runs down the middle of the hee.
Good arch support, hugs the foot. However, there is stitching that runs straight down the middle of the heel. After wearing these shoes for 1/2 day around town and trying different degrees of tightening the shoes, the stitching in the heel area has rubbed my heels raw. I currently own 6 pairs of merrell shoes and this is the first time I've bought a pair of shoes from merrell that hurt my feet.
Very comfortable water shoe...for hiking though?
I have been wearing these shoes for a couple days and love how comfortable they are. However, I am not too sure if I'd be interested in using them on a hike. Like the other reviewers on here, I have noticed my heel is a bit exposed and there is some mild rub on them. For quick jaunts to the beach, but for a 5 mile slog through mud and water...I will have to be more confident in the shoe before I do that. But otherwise, these are very comfortable shoes, and I am very happy with the purchase. I went a half size down from what I normally wear, and they fit like a glove. I wonder if there is like some kind of sock or buffer you can wear with these to make them more heel friendly? Not sure...
Worn the entire Summer.
Bought these to use on the trail and water. They exceeded my expectations. At the beginning of the season I left my running shoes home. Rather than miss a run I used my Choprocks on a 10k, sock-less. These were perfect. The ventilation and comfort is great for the summer.
Over priced garbage
Although I had the two years I only used them occasionally. That’s why I was irritated that they broke causing me to tumble to the ground when they were stuck in some muddy sand. The vibram sole completely separated causing the doodle to release. ; (
